So on my my2016, I set the reverse mirror dip height in about 10 seconds and it worked subsequently for the 3 years I had it. On my new my2018 I did the same, and it is not “remembering” my setting. I followed the instructions in the manual, and i can’t get it to remember. Each time I reverse, it goes all the way down, despite me adjusting it about half way up. The steps I took were:
turn feature on in the convenience features settings (dashboard and steering wheel arrows/ok).
Put car in reverse (mirror dips all the way down)
Select right mirror using button on driver armrest
Use joystick next to button to adjust mirror up about half way)
Reverse out of garage and go about my driving.
Every time I put car in reverse the mirror dips all the way down
Have tried turning feature on/off and doing steps 1-5 again. Same thing.
I went to dealer yesterday for the “encore” service where they answer any/all questions you have about the car’s features. So I showed the young sales lad the mirror dip, and went through the steps, and showed him the owner manual page - he agreed I’m doing per instructions. He checked with a service tech and we tried the following recommendations:
after step 4, hold the right mirror button for 5 seconds (no joy)
after step 4, press M then 1 on door to save the memory settings (to 1) - still no joy
He suggested the service dept. would need to look at it but questioned if my car had the option... I think he was grasping because the car clearly has the menu setting on the dashboard convenience menu, and dips all the way down when option is turned on, and does not dip when option is turned off - plus the owner manual has instructions (does not say “if equipped”).
I do know my2018 had mid-year potions added that my car does not have (lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, etc).
Question 1: has anyone with my2018 (not my2018.5) got reverse mirror dip to work as manual states?
Question 2: Anyone believe this is an “option” that my car just doesn’t have?
I believe that the dipped mirror position is remembered with the other user settings (seat, mirrors, steering wheel) so after setting it the way you want it, try setting the memory again. I did it long ago and haven't messed with it since.

+1. The seat memory has to be set to store the dip setting. I have 2 memory settings for the same seat position. 1 with normal mirror setting and 1 with the dip setting.

Oh man, I thought I knew every trick in the book for convenience settings, but this one escaped me... Good idea Lance.
Since I have my drivers position saved to all three memory locations (in case some service tech or valet inadvertently changes a setting), I believe I will commandeer one of the three memory positions, cause there are indeed instances where the dip feature is helpful, and others where it is an annoyance.

Does it also means you could move your chair with reverse mirror dip?

this is a good idea, but I know for certain that on my my16, I just put car in reverse and it would dip where I set it - no need to press any buttons. Or am I misunderstanding?

I thought I tried that, but I’ll give it another shot. If it is anything like setting the garage opener, you have to know the secret step not in the manual (or accidentally do it)

You are correct...just put into reverse and it dips. However, the memory button you used most recently will determine what dip setting is deployed. If you don't want it to dip in reverse, just press the corresponding memory button.
