Do these cars not have a standard drain plug on the oil pan? I'd check before I leave the dealership. However, if home already, I'd just get under there, remove the plug, and drain some oil. No way would I waste time and risk damage by towing it. I'd definitely take a photo and send to dealership though. I use race ramps to lift the car.

They do have drain plugs. I was concerned with the towing also, but I videoed the loading and they videoed the unloading and re loading. It came back in good condition. I consider myself lucky.

The drain plug is reeeaaaal fun to get to. You have to remove protective plates under the car. It's far easier to use an extractor.

I'm not sure what the dealer does, but with an extractor you can measure how much oil comes out. Then you just put that much back in. Check the level and add a bit more if needed. Fairly simple.

No it's EZ. Remove 8 bolts, loosen three more. Then VA-LA! the underside of the engine is exposed to the world.

Removing that undertray helps your car go faster. I dump 5 lbs of road grit out of it every year.

++++++++++

Now, it you ever feel the desire to access the engine air filters.... Don't call me to help, I'm busy.

Plus a couple 10mm sockets, and a few bolts and screws.

My learnings and views after changing the oil at least a dozen times on my XFR and F-Type:
- Until a couple of years ago I used the sump plug removal method to drain the old oil as I wasn't convinced that the top extraction tube method removed as much of the old oil.
- After a fair bit of research I worked out that both methods remove as near as dammit to the same amount of old oil, as both the bottom of the sump plug hole (it sits on the side of the sump) and the bottom of the extraction tube sit the same height above the bottom of the sump pan (around 5 mm).
- I also discovered that most (but not all) dealerships use the top extraction tube method.
- When I used the sump plug method on the F-Type I removed both the front (main) undertray and the secondary smaller undertray behind it, as it is that secondary tray which covers the sump plug. It wasn't until much later I discovered that you don't need to remove the front undertray with it's eleventy million bolts and screws, you only need to remove the secondary undertray as Carbuff2 says.
- The top extraction tube method is so much easier, quicker and cleaner that I will never go back to the sump plug method.
- However it is a good idea to remove the undertrays once in a while to inspect everything under there for leaks, rattles, loose bolts etc.
