^ You may want to read the fine print on the app agreement. I did and chose not to use it.

They will track your destinations and sell that information for marketing purposes (like what stores you parked at, where you drove on vacation, etc). They will also use your vehicle data to resolve warranty disputes.

I'm not one to be paranoid about my private info, but this went too far IMHO.

It is really annoying to have the car go into park when the door is opened. I like end spots. It's nice to crack the door and get reasonably close to the curb to allow more space on the exposed side. I don't regard going into park as a "feature" once the door is opened. This isn't a Volvo. Yeah you can put it in D again with the door open but it's still annoying.

The dirt on the sills, as others have mentioned, is also a pain. I ended up getting PPF on them so I can towel them off and not worry about the paint.

I thought the auto-park feature required a door to be opened AND the seatbelt to be released?

It was not an option on my 2015, but if it was I wouldn't use it with that in the agreement either. As someone who works in a field that advises companies that ought to know better that their "secure data" is available to anyone with an Internet connection, I just don't trust whoever stores and processes that data to treat it securely. If I had designed it the app would record each journey with a unique anonymous reference and only store that on your phone, allowing you to retrieve past trips but not linking them in the third party's databases. Yes you'd lose the ability to link journeys via a web site without consenting to share that link (which is easily done for those that want it), but they can use the data for whatever marketing they like without invading or risking my privacy.

You've had occasion for their use?

Not really. But I certainly can't see them deployed when I'm sitting in the driver's seat.

On my SLK they worked every 3 or times that I used the windshield pisser. I suspect ours are similar.

On my XKR they always seemed to deploy right after I washed the car (auto sense would find drops I missed drying) :-(

Headlamp power wash operates automatically with the windshield wash, and will only operate if the headlamps are switched on and there is sufficient washer fluid in the reservoir.

Headlamp wash operates with every fourth operation of the windshield washers, provided that 10 minutes have elapsed since the last operation of the headlamp washers.

Default F-Type - The Practical Choice

Well, I really never expected to use practical and F-Type in the same sentence. But today I got the chance. My wife bought a Weeping Cherry tree for the yard. The trick, then, was how to get it home. She wasn't about to pour it into her shinny new F-Pace.
No problem...

The best part was there was a woman in a Honda Accord who was trying to pick up a similar tree at the same time. She wasn't having much luck, but got a kick out of my easy setup. I suggested she tell her husband she wanted a more practical car.

Dunno if it's been mentioned before, but the black panel between the pano roof and the boot (trunk) has silver fleck in the paint when I always thought it was plain black.
Only discovered just now the first time I've had it out in the sun and looked closely.
I wonder if this is the same for all coupes or does it depend on paint colour?

If I am on a phone call, I can park, and turn off the car.... all electrical systems shut off, but the call remains in bluetooth mode over the speaker. However, it *does* automatically shut off, without warning, after a few minutes. This whole "auto power down" thing is annoying, but it's nice to get a few minutes of call time without the car running.
