By accident????? (Lots of sarcasm). Seems like he enjoys the rear getting a bit wiggly.

This less of an informational tidbit - more an expression of inner joy - but I didn't appreciate how pleasant it is to drive the R Coupe with the side window down until I'd put a few miles on it.

Of course, as soon as you've taken possession of your monster, you just have to open up the exhaust and roll the window down to get a fuller audible work-over. The first few times I did this I can remember wondering why I wasn't getting blown to oblivion by the slipstream.

I love driving with the window down, and in this car will do it quite comfortably up to about 80 mph. I have the seat all the way back, and there is very little buffeting - unlike many cars I've owned that generated an internal tornado as soon as you cracked a window. I guess the way that the airflow is directed along the sides of the car rather that wanting to turn in on the body is testament to the effectiveness of the aerodynamics.

You may say why not get a convertible if you like the outside so much, but I love the roofline shape of the coupe. The open window benefit gets me half-outside again, and is a real advantage I just wasn't expecting.

I get it. With steering wheel & butt heaters as well as high output HVAC, I drive open window at any temp.

Touching the time (in the upper right corner of the display screen) will take you directly to the time settings.

Agree with you Shearwig; took the coupe out with temperature in the mid-thirties a couple weekends ago, windows down, heated seats and steering wheel on. Very little cold gets in. I've done this in summer too. Music blasting. Car is beautifully designed.

1) I had no Idea there was a DVD/CD player. I thought JLR got rid of them completely from all their vehicles.

2) I had no idea how much brake dust would accumulate on my wheels so fast. I cleaned them, drove for 1 day and the following morning, it was like it was never washed. UGH!!!

3) How many people think I want to race them. No I don't want to race you! Let me get to 500 mi and let me break it in properly before I decide to go to S mode.

4) I changed the paddle option to S mode only just in case I accidentally tap the paddle shifter. I did that in my Land Rover and scared the crap out of me because I had no idea what was going on until I realized that I accidentally engaged it.

5) The reverse camera needs some upgrades. It is probably the worst quality of all the vehicles I have had cameras equipped with.

Other than that, I absolutely have a love affair with my little Caroline.

In regard to #2, you may want to try having your wheels Opti-coated or use another ceramic wax. I had my wheels opti-coated on my BMW 650i and that helped with brake dust. My wheels didn't get dirty as fast and they were easier to clean .

Can someone tell me what this camera looking thing is on the outside of my rear view mirror? Im guessing the top part is the windshield wiper sensors but dont know what the bottom one is.

That's part of the antimissile defense system.

Wonder if it's related to auto highbeam headlights? I don't have that option, and my mirror doesn't look like that.

Reading the spec, my Convertible has an emergency boot entrapment release handle, I guess that's in case a Dwarf ever gets in the boot

Thanks guys! That solves the mystery. I thought it was a forward facing camera. That would be cool if it were.

After spending a pre-holiday weekend with the family where some gifts were exchanged. I left on the trip alone with some gifts and my weekender bag, but came home with a family member who was flying out of the airport near my house. I discovered how much stuff this car can hold despite how small the trunk is. I took the wind deflector off and stored it next to the driver's seat and packed the area where the roof folds into with a ton of stuff (I have the vert) I almost think it can hold as much as the trunk can because it's shaped like a deep square well. This car just gets more and more practical every time I use it, and I use it as my sole and only car. It's turned out to be a great daily driver!

I took my car for a drive tonight in the slush and rain and snow on the ground - I felt like I was in my pick up truck! no problem.

My vet wouldn't make it back up the driveway.....

Such an amazing car.

Here you go. Better than any factory optioned dash cam:
DDPAI M6 Plus HD 1440P Car Dash Camera DVR Cam WIFI GPS + CPL Filter + Hard Wire | eBay

Don't let the cheap price fool you. Recommended by DashCam expert TechMoan on Youtube as the best dashcam out there currently.

Skip to 11 minute mark for more detailed cam info.

But where do you mount a dash cam in the F-Type that won't take up precious windshield space?
