Napa Battery Charger on Jaguar F type
Apologies for what is probably a basic question, but has anyone used a Napa Auto Parts battery charger on their Jaguar F-Type? I have a 2016 convertible. Also, does this need to be hooked up to the battery directly in the back or can I charge on the battery part in the engine block. Finally, anyone use the CTEK cigarette plug-in charger? Thanks.

Not cheap but similar cost to a CTEK, 15 amps so much more powerful than a CTEK, I have used it for some 8 or 10 years now and it has always worked flawlessly with zero problems.
It works perfectly attached to the under-hood charging points, in fact I have the pigtail lead hardwired to them, but it would also work just as well attached directly to the battery.

I own an Optima 400 charger which I am very happy with. I have had my share of various maintenance chargers and this is by far the best one I have ever come across. I also own a CTEK lithium charger for my Antigravity battery in my F-Type as that requires a special charger.
I don't think you can go wrong with the optima charger or their batteries for that matter. They are in all my cars save for the F-Type which has a lithium battery. Here is a link to the charger. https://www.optimabatteries.com/prod...rs/digital-400

I swapped out my boat anchor for a lithium battery as well but did it before it was required. I put the boat anchor on a the cheapest CTEK charger (56-865) to maintain it incase I decide to I want to swap the batteries back. It’s been on there for about a 6 months with no issues. I also have a CTEK lithium charger and that seems to work well.
With electronics, I’ll pay a little extra for a respected brand because it seems to be a factor in their longevity and reliability. A quality charger should last a decade so when you divide the cost across that time frame, I think it’s worth the additional cost.
As mentioned, the cigarette lighter connector doesn’t work on our car so I have a convenience charge panel installed in my car. I have this along with a CTEK Bluetooth voltage/temp monitoring device on my car. Both are pretty useful if you like to geek out.

I have a NAPA charger/maintainer wired into my wife's RX8 and it works fine, but then the car is far less complex.
Keep in mind that the 2016 has a single AGM battery. Whatever you choose, make sure it has an AGM setting, like the NOCO Genius line, which I highly recommend for seasonal maintenance.
