I spent the day driving with 5 Ferrari owners yesterday (although one brought his Golf R, and the other brought, and crashed, his De Tomaso Pantera), and every one of them said they loved the look of the F Type, and all agreed they thought Stratus Grey was the perfect color for it.

Tell us about that. We can all learn from (hopefully other people's) bone-headed moves.

rhodium silver with black wheels looks pretty sick. The lighter colors are better to hide scratches and salt debris.

No such thing [as perfect] when it comes to colors and combinations, even if you and I know that Stratus Gray is.

If it helps Ian Callum lives in my village and he has a Salsa Red R Coupe with the Black Pack. Can't go wrong with that. But then my Sportbrake is Dark Sapphire with Black Pack and that looks sweet too....

I'll cast my vote for Salsa Red. It's neat seeing it in so many of the pub's and reviews.

Some colors do well on some designs yet look less impressive on others (designs). The F-Type happens to be, IMO, one great design that goes well with just about any color you'd want to throw on it, including matte wraps.

As someone earlier said, it's a subjective thing. My cars are now a shade of black because I enjoy my polisher and detail them on a regular basis. When I went to other colors in the past (white, silver, and blue), I kept coming back to black--now exclusively. Yes, I give away some detail with a dark color, but when I hit the city lights on a Saturday night, its a compromise I'm very willing to make.

Out of curiosity, what are the colors of the rides you have now or have had in the past? And why did you pick them? That might free up a little thinking...or not.

I'm still going back and forth between IRR and BRG (either with camel/camel). BRG beautiful in the sunlight, but doesn't pop in the shade. IRR beautiful color at any time, but too much of a cliche for a guy my age.

I saw an IRR on a cloudy day and it doesn't pop either. Caldera Red for me and my mid-life crisis!

The fact that people think it is a cliché is a cliche´.

Yes, I am quite familiar with the concept of 2nd order partial differential equations. But that's how you can get your mind wrapped around an axle.

Haven't you ever heard of the expression, "you're as young as you feel"? I "get" where you're coming from - and partly why, at my age [58] I don't want to go the boy-racer route - but the fact of the matter is age, in my opinion, has less to do with your choice of color than maybe you think? (Much as I might have just contradicted myself).

As often said on this Forum, the F-Type lends itself spectacularly well to all colors and combinations and, between your two choice above, I'd personally go for BRG.

My 2-cents.

Your opinion is the correct one! As well as your comment [re] hitting the city lights on, I would say, any night.

Clearly when looking back at all the cars I've owned over the years, the exterior color has overwhelmingly been either Gray [Charcoal Gray on my 1980 Mazda RX-7, Dorchester Gray on my 1988 Jaguar XJ-6, Stratus Gray on my 2015 F-Type V6S] or Silver [2002 Audi A4 Wagon, 2004 Audi A8L, 2006 BMW 325xi Wagon]. Throw a couple of curve ***** on this short list; 1974 Gold Pontiac Firebird Formula, 1994 Red NSX, 1997 Monte Carlo Blue NSX and a handful of others...Green on a splendid old Peugeot (yes, it was splendid) Brown (on a joint-owned Rolls) and surely a few I missed.

Probably like many here, I have pretty strong opinions on the color of my cars. It's highly unlikely I will ever own any Red car (again), unless it's a Ferrari - and that's highly unlikely - or a White car - although I think the F-Type is stunning in White (so too some Mercs) - or Yellow, or Green - much as I want to own something BRG.

Wondering if the O.P. has decided and ordered a colour choice. Want to make sure he doesn't have the 'Obama indecisive disease'.

Most of us on this forum agree the F looks good in any colour and I do really like my IRR choice, but also wondered if I was choosing a colour that was a bit too much for my age bracket (55+) . Once I drove it for a few weeks any concerns I had quickly disappeared due to the positive comments and thumbs up responses.

Actually a number of discerning female friends helped me choose the colour, which was a great help.
Lawrence.

Now who is indecisive?

Or were the decisions being made by "little Lawrence"?
