I just finished placing my order. I wonder if it would be possible to run this off of the battery thats used for the start/stop nonsense?

I went with a couple of the DDPAI M6 plus cameras after seeing some reviews on youtube. Not sure how happy I am with the cameras at this point, but I wired them in with a cellink b battery that I had bought back in 2015 intending to put it in my M4 but never got around to installing. So far, so good.
I've only had them in for a week or so and haven't tucked all of the wiring in, but I ran the cables back into the under the trunk area where the battery and one of the fuse panels are. I used the add a fuse kit for the positive and one of the screws in the body for the ground. Then I used the cigarette lighter output with a 4 port usb plug in it to power the two cameras. I have the cameras set to do their parking mode for 6 hours then shut off. With that setting plus the battery, I haven't noticed any battery issues but I've been driving my car for at least 15 minutes per day so I don't have any long term battery drain tests yet.

An option for the DDPAI is a power cord that kills power if the voltage drops below 10.8v. I have used such a cord on any 12v/5v devices.
I am also using the DDPAI in three vehicles and am satisfied with their performance.
Its only negative vs the BlackVue is its size. It does tuck in behind the rear view mirror nicely though. For $125, it can't be beat and handles a 128gb card also.
The magnetic mount makes taking in the unit/card to the house super simple and I love the remote button snapshot.
If size is paramount the Blackvue cannot be beat, and that is a great price.
To not have a DashCam in this age of texting idiots is simply foolish.
