Chrome side-vents are standard on the base car, and the hood louvers are a different style--a flat, diamond-mesh pattern only available in black. Since the hood is the same, I'm sure the available chrome V8S/R style vents would fit.

Gorgeous looking, I was very close to ordering white myself (was that or stratus grey) then decided to take a risk with black berry.
As others have said, nice to see one without the black pack (which I would have gone for tbh)...any reason you stuck with the chrome? Are you tempted to swap out the bonnet louvres to match?
No. It was a unit that was in inventory. I just looked through all of the inventory in California with the specs I was looking for and landed on that one! I haven't quite decided if I like the chrome. I don't hate it but I don't love it either.

I think chrome goes best on the dark colors.

Ideally..I'd like anything that chrome on the car to be carbon fiber.

With a lot of money, anything is possible.

By the way, one is never too old - or young for that matter - to have a mid-life crisis.
I have been accused of spending more time and providing more attention to my car, I guess that's an affair....

Local Jaguar Club rally two weekends ago. I meet and briefly spoke with several staff members from the Academy out in front, shortly after I arrived... might you have been one of them?

Good to have you here, WhiteTardis, and I appreciate your honesty, given your employer, in the other thread you started.

Ahhh....it was on a Saturday. I wasn't there. I was actually getting ready to head out to finalize the paperwork on my F Type. You probably met Brian and Chris. Although I have sneaking suspicion that you drive a black R coupe?

Process of elimination. Based on the photos that were taken of the event..I only saw one F Type. You post in the F Type section. Did I win?

Better question would have been: What do you win?
I do remember there being two other F-Types at the event, though I may have been the only Coupe, and certainly the only Ebony Black.

Congrats, great looking car.

Have you had it to the track yet and can comment on the experience?

I've loved doing many track days and have recently sold the Cayman for the R (rwd) and want to accumulate some miles on it to break it in before hitting the track.

I gotta say, I'm nervous about it though and am anticipating that it will be a bit of a handful, especially coming from the mid-engine Cayman. With that car, I could routinely be pedal to the floor as I hit the apex and stay on it, as the car is so nimble and not tons of rwd power.

I know the R is another beast all together, so I feel I will be starting the learning all over again...

On the topic of affairs, my wife always said I could do anything I could afford. There WAS something in the way she said it. I bought a Jag.

In 3 years when my Jag F V8S blk/blk/blk lease is up, I will most likely get an all blk coupe or better yet, what I really wanted, a white coupe with black pack--congrats--looks great!

BTW--my sales rep at Dallas Park Place told me the break in miles were btw 600-700; the factory breaks the engine very well unlike BMW which requires 2000 miles before hitting 7000 RPMs

You might want to take a look at your manual. The recommended break-in procedure is much the same as BMW, and your sales person was either uninformed or just BS-ing.
