Welcome! You will LOVE your new car - but be prepared for the (positive) attention it will get. If you are not going to use it very regularly you might want to get a CTEK battery maintainer - the various modules need full voltage all the time. If the voltage drops you will get odd and worrisome symptoms - warning lights, various systems misbehaving....don't worry, it is always or virtually always the battery being below its prime. If your car has its original battery it may be near the end of its life - keep in mind that new batteries are almost NEVER fully charged at purchase, and sometimes they never reach full charge because of the limited use of the car. So if you do buy a new battery charge it fully before installing.
My F-Type at rest - the cord is the CTEK cord - it takes about 5 seconds to connect or disconnect but the use of this unit means a fully charged battery always, and zero issues.
Totally true about the attention, that's what every Jaguar owners get. I was at my favorite gasoline station the other day, and at the back pump next to mine there is this guy in a Porsche Cayenne just staring at my XF. I am not surprised, though.
I live in Houston, I know there are lots of crime here. I am always on a lookout someone might steal my Jag whenever I park my car in a public place, yes even while at the pump at my favorite gasoline station.
While you're at it, go ahead and pull off the CarMax plate frame--unless they are paying you a handsome fee for advertising.
P.S. I scratched the itch for a little red convertible a couple decades ago (with a Miata). Always think I can't see myself owning another little red convertible, but when I look at your pictures....
