You may consider reading the post above your comment. I've owned sports cars since i was 18 and my F-type, which is ONLY the 380hp V6 dynamic coupe, is the most comfortable, civilized, technology accomodating, smoothest and best looking of them all.............and I've had two XKE's, .Big Healys, Porches and more. There are at least 20 C-8 Vettes driven by typical shop rats in my 50K community and maybe 3-4 F-types in our 250K population region that I've seen in 2 years.

Well there are lots of problems...
1. The biggest problem is still the perception of unreliability. True or not, it hasn't changed one damn bit over the years and with Land Rover consistently showing up at the bottom of the lists you can't blame people.
2. The lineup has absolutely languished over the last several years. The F Type had the horrible 2021 cosmetic changes, there was the idiotic 4 cylinder version, and it's otherwise the same car as it was in 2014. The XF and XE got neutered, the F pace is interesting I guess but hardly compelling, and the IPace had one of the worst battery efficiencies of any car. I live in LA and I go MONTHS without seeing one in the wild.
3. They screwed the pooch on the dealer network.
4. The plan to go all electric isn't outrageous, though they obviously F'd up the XJ attempt, but the plan to go UPMARKET and compete with Bentley and RR and the like is nutso. I loved my XF and I love my FTR, but I fear that 10 years from now Jaguar will have gone the way of the dodo bird.

I've owned sports cars since high school, in the '60's! I just seem to enjoy them more than the other cars that have been in my household. The only car I've ever owned that had no problems was my '12 Merc AMG Slk55. 2 years and 14,000 mi. and no problems, except new rear tires every 6k. Most of my Z cars were pretty good as were 2 of my 3 TT's. There aren't really many F Type's on lots, 5 or 6 per dealer. I think the prices really vary across the market, even Corvette's have fallen back to earth.

New F Types aren’t selling well in my neck of the woods. My local dealership is full with them and now offering deep discounts. While vexing because my purchase was last year, it’s all good. I love this car.
As for the C8 comparison, a good friend has one (Convertible Z51), and I’ve driven it more than a few times. It’s a beautiful car, more of a scalpel if you will. It is certainly faster and better handling than the F Type (though I don’t really miss the 0.8 second difference in 0-60 speed at all when I’m in my car).
I prefer the F Type though for a few reasons.
One more thought. I traded a beautiful manual Camaro ZL1 for this F Type. That car was a far better sports car, and I still argue better than any Corvette, including the C8. The alpha chassis and that 650hp married with 650 lb/ft of touque was incredible and translated to effortless spirited driving on the track. Honestly, look into this before you refute this comment. The ZL1 was absolutely a beast of a performance car though not for someone who isn’t confident behind the wheel. Both the ZL1 and the F Type were going the way of the dodo bird and were special. But the Jag just felt more special to me. The F Types combo of looks, class, and sheer fun, was way too good for me to pass up when I found out they were going away. The C8 will thrill you, I was just ready for more.

I prefer the F Type though for a few reasons.
- First, the Jekyll and Hyde. The F-Type can be a beautiful cruiser on a Sunday afternoon - and it’s very good at that. But it can also be or a solid performance car. In comfort mode (Sport I guess?), tooling around town at low speed, the F Type is a more comfortable vehicle than the C8. The C8 IMO doesn’t do this well, none of the corvette’s I’ve driven really do.
- Second, the F Type feels more like a luxury vehicle to me than the corvette. My opinion here too but in the F Type, the leather feels more hand crafted, and the interior is of better quality, it just feels more special. IMO the only interior advantage the C8 has over the F Type is the sound system. I have the upgraded Meridian and honestly the sound in my wife’s Prius is of better quality.
- Third, no one has an F Type anywhere near me, and I do not see them in the wild. C8’s on the other hand - as common as Mustangs in my town. They’re everywhere. We have a local show ‘n shine in my town on Tuesday nights. The C8’s typically number between 6-10. Nobody’s ever brought an F Type. (I usually bring my ‘53 for those types of events

Unfortunately my experience mirrors most other folks here - there are just not a lot of folks interested in F-Types these days, I maybe see one or two a month, vs probably seeing a 911 or C8 every other day.
I think sadly the JLR rep for reliability haunts sales, and it's just not really in peoples minds as much anymore. Whenever I've brought my car to events like autocross or trackcross, everyone loves it and asks about it - also so far I've had pretty good reliability minus a bunch of o2 sensors going bad b/c of all the pops and bangs 😅
Like @Pupilbone said though, I don't mind it, I enjoy having a unique car!

The C8 looks like a kit car. There are a couple REALLY nice C7's in my town and they look SO much better than the C8. Angular exotic shapes never age well. In 10-15 years, they'll be like a 996...nobody wants them.
Wanna get a 'vette? Get an early 60's...when Detroit still made [some] good cars...or a Burnt Orange 427/435 from around 1970.

Wait…does this mean you don’t think the Pontiac Aztek has lasting beauty and elegance?

F-types are niche vehicles. They’re not for everyone, and that’s partly why I’m drawn to them beyond the beautiful design.
As for the old vs. new design…I mentioned this in another thread, but recently I had the opportunity to see the older car next to the newer design on a dealership floor. Wow, did the original car ever look old/dated in comparison. It’s when you see them right next to each other that you realize it. I personally like both designs, but this is definitely the case in my view. I think a lot of the people out there saying the new design is garbage are previous gen owners who are chapped by the new one dating their car ;-0
Also, seeing the new gen in the flesh vs. in pics/video on the Internet might change some minds. I find pics and videos almost never do full justice, for most cars. Gotta see it in person to really make a call.
As for the C8, my gawd this car is an absolute disaster in design that will NOT stand the test of time. This is for sure. Once again, they look better in the flesh than they do in photos/videos for me, but not a whole lot. The proportions on the Z06 are SO much better, but even that is too plasticky and boy racer for my tastes.
At the end of the day to each their own, but I wouldn’t be caught dead in a C8. I also found myself having to try and convince myself that I liked them, and I was never successful in doing so. All this said, there is no doubt that they are good value/performance for money at MSRP. That is undeniable, but I just could never be passionate about one of those cars.

Well, I think the only current vehicle more beautiful, more elegant, more sensuous than the Pontiac Aztek is the Tesla truck. I am pretty sure that it will stand the test of time and still be lusted-after decades from now. Why some people still think an E-Type Jaguar is classically beautiful is beyond me. I also like all the useless excrescences on the Corvette. The more conflicting lines, the better.
In contrast, the F-Type is so PLAIN, don’t you think?

Driven the C8 a few times now.
The F-Type is not a small vehicle, but wow the C8 feels larger..... but the short hood makes it feel smaller.
The C8 sits way lower. but the sight lines stink.
The sound of the F-Type is waaay more emotionally engaging, as are the beautiful lines. Got stopped at a light today ("dude, beautiful car'.)
The F-Type is already stupid fast, do i really need faster? But the C8 handles much flatter.
