Wow, did the original car ever look old/dated in comparison. It’s when you see them right next to each other that you realize it. I personally like both designs, but this is definitely the case in my view. I think a lot of the people out there saying the new design is garbage are previous gen owners who are chapped by the new one dating their car ;-0
I’ve got a ‘17 R coupe and the facelift, in my opinion, ruined a lot of lines on the car. This also happened to a lesser degree going from ‘17 to ‘18. They didn’t give it a facelift (to the horizontal lights) because they thought it would look better, they did it to appease European safety regulations. I am chapped that they changed the front but not because I wish I had it, only because it now implies mine is “dated.” Whatever though…in 5-10yrs the appeal will be for the better looking version, not the “newer” version

Your opinion is the one that matters for you man. I gave mine. The new car does appear to be polarizing. I personally don’t see why when the new and old is side by side, but it is for sure for some reason.
So what would you say are the advantages of an F-Type over the C8?
I would say the rarity of the F Type for starters. The C8's are everywhere now and the prices haven't dropped much. They are almost as commonly seen here as a Camry. And hell, a Camry is a solid car but I don't want the same car as everyone. I would take a Camry as a daily commuter but not dropping good money on a car that everyone has.
The F-Type is not a small vehicle, but wow the C8 feels larger..... but the short hood makes it feel smaller.
The C8 sits way lower. but the sight lines stink.
The sound of the F-Type is waaay more emotionally engaging, as are the beautiful lines. Got stopped at a light today ("dude, beautiful car'.)
The F-Type is already stupid fast, do i really need faster? But the C8 handles much flatter.
Going fast is one thing. Going fast while looking good is something entirely different ;-) Jag for the win.
Well, I think the only current vehicle more beautiful, more elegant, more sensuous than the Pontiac Aztek is the Tesla truck. I am pretty sure that it will stand the test of time and still be lusted-after decades from now. Why some people still think an E-Type Jaguar is classically beautiful is beyond me. I also like all the useless excrescences on the Corvette. The more conflicting lines, the better.
In contrast, the F-Type is so PLAIN, don’t you think?
I thought the Tesla truck was pretty ugly until I saw one in person - then I decided PLUG ugly was more accurate. <pun intended>
BTW, it was being towed. Looks AND function to match.

This literally happened to me at my local Cars & Coffee. I was the lone F-Type in a sea of C8s, lol.

Ditto.... i was at a mid-sized Cars and Coffee yesterday, about 450 cars.... probably 25 C8 littered everywhere lol. I was the only F-Type and this car gets soooo many compliments. People stop me at traffic lights all the time. C8...... i like the Camry comparison. But damn they are good.
On another site recently I saw someone comment that the typical C8 is driven in the left lane by an old guy, under the speed limit, and you could replace the engine with a 3 cylinder and most owners wouldn't notice.

Hard to disagree with that.
The C8 is also made of sugar as it shouldn't be driven in the rain, lol.
LOL, I used to lurk the Corevtte forum and in the C8s for sale sub-forum you'll see posts where sellers say their C8 has never been in the rain. Below is some recent posts from there. Sports car owners can be an OCD bunch but Corvette owners seem to be more so
So, reminds me of a real-life, non-AI generated incident of about a month ago.... i was parking at a local Chevy dealership and in pulls a 70+ guy with a brand new C8. Yep, he looked like one of those guys in the image.
As i marveled at his spotless and new red C8, he jumps out and starts talking to me..... "ya like it? I just got it buddy! Only 40 miles, Here to pick up my plates... just got back from the shop picking it up after GETTING MY WHEELS CHROMED."
And there they were, on the brand new candy red C8, were chrome wheels soooo bright that i was blinded by their reflection. OMG it was hideous but I politely shielded my eyes from the glare and complimented him on the ride.
(Happened to run into a salesman inside the showroom about 30 minutes later when i was looking at their several C8s (large inside facility). He randomly commented "you can't order chrome wheels, but i just had someone unbelievably get theirs chromed" as he rolled his eyes.)
I own a my 16 s that I drive rain or shine. Now I agree with the consensus that corvette owners fear the rain like vampires fear the sun. Not my twin 79 year old brother who drives his new e ray in the rain like last weekend at Limerock. He's not afraid of rain as most corvette owners. Just had to comment. Cheers Frank
