Yes, I think so too. I also wonder if it might be a bit dangerous for some, as I can see it causing some drivers to fixate on the ghost and not noticing pedestrians and traffic encroaching from the periphery.

Here's a YouTube video that shows the systems running including the transparent pillars.

Now, that is more much interesting with the transparent pillars showing hazards entering the scene from the periphery. If fully integrated to show all such hazards, it could be a major step forward in safety.

Love it. But they've been developing HUD for years and yet we have no HUD.

Transparent C pillar would be awesome on the coupe. Huge blind spot right now.

Looks very cutting edge and would be interesting if it becomes a reality in the near future. By the way, the interior in the XJ sedan in the video looks like a million bucks.

Thats awesome! That could be very fun and useful in some situations for people intelligent enough to use it without driving into a wall.

Agreed. The tech is not very difficult at all. I think frankly the issue is power consumption for both the video processing and the display) .... Notice that the pillars only turn transparent on the turns to save power.

No problem with tri-lithium crystals! Plenty of power for the holodeck.

I think I may be one of the "driving into wall." Too much for us old folks.
