Just went back and checked the Technical Introduction document, which says

Rain/Ice/Snow Mode as part of the DSC uses:
• Modified slip-control system map for braking
• Decreased throttle progression
• Early transmission upshifts
• Softer damper map (Adaptive Damping variants)
I need to locate where I read the thing about starting in second.

in normal, city driving, starting off in 1st gear is excessive. I just leave it in 2nd.

btw, I confirm, my auto up works. so definitely you can do an auto window up with just one press.

Again I must suffer the agony of intense jealousy! Tell us all about it. I have to live vicariously through the rest of you for the next several months.

Thanks guys for all the comments and tips. I got the stereo to play decently, but still an overall disappointment. Windows are working both auto up and down. Just took the Jag on a 500-mile trip and got a fault light with the Left-Rear TPMS in addition to hiring some random metal clicking sound when driving slow speeds up a slight grade. All in all, it was great on the long journey and taking it in the dealer for some checks tomorrow.

Cheers!
