Are the new LED headlights adaptive with corning lights?
With a new 2018 arriving in the new year I have a question about the new LED headlights. I liked the corning and adaptive turning lights on my long gone 2013 XKR. What features are included in the LED headlights? My SVR does have the auto high beam which should be useful. I liked the auto high beam on my AMG which I also sold about 3 years ago. The topix build sheet says, "less headlamp control", but I found this on every 2018 I looked at.

I can't answer your question, but I liked the adaptive and cornering lights on my 2010 XKR, too. However, apart from the "wow" factor to impress passengers, I haven't really missed them on my F-Type - the lights have a nice wide spread anyway. The F-Type gives my passengers the "wow" factor in other ways!

I don't see how the LED units could swivel the way the previous adaptive lamps did...and while there are benefits to LED illumination, the previous lamp design, particularly the adaptive lamps with cornering lights, not only look much better but perform brilliantly (pun appropriate, I suppose).

I purposely wanted a 2018 because of the new modern LED lights. I also sold my 2011 XKR 175 to get a 2013 XKR because I wanted the, new then, LED daytime running lights and new design. LED head lights are far more adaptable than previous non-LED HID headlights. The next generation of LED headlights will be more intelligent to identify on coming cars and objects, track these objects and spot dim the objects as necessary without compromising the beam. The LED head lights now adjust for weather condition (fog, rain, etc.). A mechanical positioning mechanism could easily have been build to position the lights to respond to steering etc. I think Jaguar build the first generation LED headlights to be dumb to save on costs and the following generations will be more intelligent as the LED headlight generation evolves. Unfortunately, I don't think the first generation LED headlights have corning lamps and are limited in adaptability.

This was a new one to me, so I RFTMed.
Seems it only works in Auto mode, which is why I'd never noticed any difference, and I hate Auto mode - I like to be in control of when my headlights go on and off. However, I shall give the switch an extra click to Auto instead of dipped beam when I need lights and see what difference it makes. Thanks for the information.
