New Owner Impressions
I am a new owner (2 days) and i saw JDcarrol say that he was also a new owner so i thought i might post some impressions. MBourne said in my welcome thread "let the love affair with the f-type begin". all i can say is WOW. i realized today that this is the first car that i've owned that i literally like everything about. I am nearing retirement, kids just launching and i havent had a car of this caliber before. had a couple vettes, a couple rx7s, and a 540i but buying a car like this is something i have looked forward to. i looked at a bunch of cars on my way to this one (i8, an old aston martin vantage, a c8, a boxster and a couple teslas). all of them were good but had at least one miss for me. this car looks good from every angle. all of the lines are just insanely right. the interior is well done and that engine is insane. i've been grinning for 2 days. i know i supposed to want a 911 but i just don't like the look. i grew up with alpine lamborghini posters on my walls so for me a sports car should look more like that and less like a vw bug. this car looks really fast yet it has kind of a grown up feel. less wings and scoops than the lambo, ferrari, c8 crowd but such better lines than a tesla. the electronics are not a 10 out of 10 (mine is a 2018) but they are honestly not bad. the stereo needs a little work but i like a project and i don't actually hate the sound now.
anyway, it is fair to say that the love affair has started. i am curious to know what other new owners think?

I have a 2018, bought it new and I am still in love with the car as I was the first day I drove it. I still look at it as I walk away from it being parked. I have also had a lot of nice cars over the years. I currently have, besides the F type a BMW Z4 and a Porsche Macan GTS, but my favorite by far is the F Type. I have owned 2 other BMW Z's and a BMW Z3. in the past. I was brand loyal to BMW for many years until the F type came out. Every year I said I would buy the F Type, but needed to get rid of the Z4 first , because I thought it was not practical to have two 2-seater. t I couldn't part with my latest Z4 and wanted the F Type so bad, so I ended up buying the F Type in 2018 and keeping the Z4. The Z4 is driven nearly as much as the F Type!
Good luck with your F Type and many happy miles. Post some pics when you can stop driving it!

Had my V8S for over 6 plus years now and still never tire of it, never fail to smile on startup and still enjoy every mile I drive it. It’s also fun to read about the experiences and emotions of the newly initiated! Like reliving the feeling of the nights I wanted to sleep in the thing…….pure joy mixed with a little childish mirth.

I bought an '18 F type R new in 2018, loved the car, but wound up trading it on a new, leftover '18 Z06 Corvette. Loved both of them, but got the itch to have another F type and traded the Z06 on a '21 F type R a few moths ago. She's a beauty and like most other owners, I get a lot of compliments on the car, even from some Porsche owners. My one gripe about the car is it's lack of gauges on the instrument panel. I like to see things like oil pressure, boost pressure, oil temperature, etc. and the Jag has nothing other than a coolant temperature bar. The other nit picking thing is to be able to glance down and see what gear you're in when driving in automatic mode....hell, both of my M/B's show that on the speedometer whether you're driving in paddle shift mode or just plain automatic mode. Especially in the R model, I can't understand why the designers didn't add those small features that really don't amount to a lot of extra cost when building the car.

Anyone who has a new car and DOESN'T love it has made a truly poor decision.
The real mark is from those who have owned one for years and are still in love.
There are plenty of those here - myself included.
Welcome to the club. I hope your only regret is that it took you so long to get here.

As to not showing the current gear, that does seem strange.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos about older classic sports cars and am always impressed with the gauge layout in most of those cars. They always included an oil pressure and amps gauge plus often had oil temperature too. And boost gauges for turbo models. It seems today that many high performance cars no longer have "full instrumentation" and are digressing to the era of idiot lights which only show you when a problem has already occurred.
It sure would be nice if you had electronic gauges that showed some additional engine status readouts. I'd like to have oil pressure and oil temperature gauges in between the tach & speedometer as part of the configurable gauges. Right now I have it showing the trip computer readout.
One thing that I didn't discover for a couple of months was that you could set up a Favorites display for the Touchscreen home page. It will have the shortcuts that you use most often and you can also move the icons around to put them in the order that makes most sense, like having the cancel Navigation icon next to the navigation icon and the Android Auto icon next to the Phone icon, etc. At least my 2021 model does this.
I also discovered that you can put a large analog clock display which even includes a second hand on the touchscreen. Yay for an analog clock ! That is a lot easier to see than the tiny digital time readout on the main gauge display.

Agreed. I was out this weekend and in a 5 mile stretch I saw 3 new c8s. haha. Quite a few popping up. I definitely like having something not everyone has.

Every Jaguar, regardless of model or age (and I have owned many) is a special place to be in - it never gets old and the automatic smile that comes when you settle into the driver's seat is standard equipment. And every Jaguar owner looks back at his car when he parks it. Owning Jaguars often becomes an obsession, a disease for which you want no cure. I have had this disease for decades-- it never seems to go into remission: I love them all:
