Default New Wheel Day

Just had new (to me) wheels and tires fitted on my V6S over the weekend. I think it looks pretty good...

Wheels were purchased from another member and are SSR GTX01 in 19x10.5 +22 in the rear and 19x9.5 +35 up front. According to my bathroom scale the rears weigh 24 pounds and the fronts are 23 pounds. Tires are Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus in 285/35 in the rear and 265/35 up front.

Nice. I know the member you got them from. SSR is a very good high end JDM brand.

I'm glad to have met him, if only via the Internet! Very standup guy and couldn't have been more helpful. And the wheels are great. Much better than the stock black ones.

Looks really nice! Although I have stock 18 inch wheels and really like them a lot, if I was changing wheels I would up-size to 19's. It seems to be the perfect size/proportion on our cars. The 20 inch wheels look great too, but the 19's just seem to hit the sweet spot.

Thanks! I agree on 19's, though a set of 20" Gyrodynes always looks nice.

They look good with the color of your car. Are they missing center caps ? If so, and the factory Growler caps would fit the bit of color would set them off nicely and match the brake calipers.

I have some center caps on the way. Not sure if I will out a growler decal on or leave them plain. It's another $160 to get the SSR caps and that seems like a lot. The Jaguar stock caps are too small to fit.

On my old type, I had correct size growler high quality stickers (convex, metal) printed that I popped on the aftermarket caps.

I found one pace that makes domed stickers that would work and can be ordered to any size. Any chance you remember where you got yours?

Niiiice 😎

You've just spent a fortune on wheels, $160 for the correct centre caps is nothing.

This guy on ebay:

lygowave

They were less than $20 for all of them. The quality was great and they were on my car for a good three years before I traded it.
