I know many AWD guys are hoping for a big straight line performance jump, but I don't think that's happening due to the increase in weight. C/D did do a comparison between the 2016 FTR, 911 GTS and AMG GT-S here: 2016 Jaguar F-type R Coupe vs. 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S, 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS: Final Scoring, Performance Data, and Complete Specs

so it's still in the low 120s trap speed. GT-Rs is probably mid 120s.

If the trap speed is the 60 feet before the end of the 1/4 mile, then it looks like we're seeing 122 mph there for C/D's tests. That is lower than the 125.1 mph trap speed (w/ 11.0 sec 1/4-mile) posted by the factory spec GT-R track edition, but pretty close.

Looks like that is the second posted 0-60 time of 3.4 sec that I've seen now for the AWD V8.

As far as I know, we haven't seen a professionally administered independent speed test for the AWD under controlled conditions, so we have no idea what it's trap speed is at this point. That article was done by a journalist who just wanted to see how it ran. They only did one run, and who knows what the conditions were, etc. I read every F-Type review I can get my hands on, so I've seen a lot of similar tests done by other journalists and the numbers are all over. 0-60 times aren't the end all measurement, but in the absence of trap times that is the predominant number we see, and those fluctuate from just over 3 sec to just under 4 sec depending on who did the test.

I agree that the GTR should be the faster car, but it should be pretty close. Based on what we saw in that video, it looked like LC was the deciding factor in that run.
launch control has no bearing on trap speed, only time. in fact spinning wheels off the line will create a higher trap - hard to get your head around but that's just drag racing 101

the AWD is always going to trap lower than a RWD in comparable settings - same engine hp but less weight and drivetrain loss on a RWD

but the extra grip of AWD will produce faster acceleration times

here's another comparo of GTR (nismo) vs rwd F-Type on similar concrete surface

3.4 sec is pretty damn quick, but the performance envelope gets pushed higher every year.

I'm surprised the JAG did not get smoked worse, the GTR is, as has been an outstanding performer.

The next generation high performance cars will start doing low 3.0s all day once hybrid technology trickles down. I still remember when 6 seconds was respectable, 5 was fast, and 4 was super car territory. progress!

I think 0-60 sub 4 seconds is still considered supercar territory. Now we have hypercars with sub 3 second times is all.

The F Type still kills it in the looks category. I've never really like the looks of the GTR plus I see ten GTR's for every one F Type I see.

I agree. I really don't like the appearance of the GT-R. For the same money I'd get the F-Type, or even a 911 over the GT-R any day.
