Default no active exhaust.

hey guys new here, I very close to finishing up the paperwork on a 2017 f type coupe. Getting a great deal on a lease, but only downside is it's base with pretty much only the weather package added. I think since it has the navi and a 770 watt sound system I can live. But it of course doesn't have the active exhaust with the button. I have read that it only just opens up exhaust baffles ,but haven't been able to confirm that.. what do most people do around here as a work around but without a new exhaust system since this is a lease.. thanks in advance !

Enjoy the car and welcome.

There really isn't a workaround unless you're willing to go aftermarket and put the car back to stock at lease return.

A fully functioning active exhaust system has a different muffler assembly versus a passive system as it has the exhaust valves which open and close using a vacuum pressure.

The non-active exhaust is almost as loud as the active exhaust with the valves open. The only value in the valved system is to keep the neighbors and spousal unit happy. Enjoy!!!

Even without the active exhaust, you will enjoy miles of symphonic pleasure only adding to the s%!t eating grin on your face! It's ALL good!

Is it a 2017 Base or 2017 Premium? I know the Premium does have the active exhaust.

it's a base not premium but I don't think that is the case I actually think it only comes on the s now but before used to be an option you can add with the v6 non s no longer the case I believe

You do get the "Switchable Active Sport Exhaust" on the manual transmission 2017 Base and Premium - but not on the automatic. 2016 Base was the same story.

oh i see, I am leasing and was really limited with inventory. to bump up to an s was a hugeeeee difference in the msrp which would of made the lease payment way higher
