No More Water Spots :-)
I'm stubborn to say the least. "I'm not going to spend $$ on one of those dang resin spotless water systems"! I would say. Well...I bought one of them dang CR spotless water systems and man...I'm a happy camper. Easy as pie, hooked it up to a pressure washer, had a couple small buckets, one with Optimum No Rinse wash....you know, the usually drill, and an air blaster dryer. Besides the car looking better than ever afterwards, zero hard water spots anywhere....in the sun no less. I'm cutting down the preparation, washing, and cleanup steps so that the process is streamlined, which means I'll be more likely to do the deed. There are those days when I appreciate the Zen of washing and don't care how long it takes, but there are other times I want to "get er done". Anyway, glad I finally wen this route.

Have one and love it. I have put my car away soaking wet before and in the morning it still had nary a spot.
If you do get stubborn water spots and think you'll be stuck polishing to remove them, give CarPro Spotless a try. The stuff is amazing. Removed some spots from the winter that I was certain would have to be rotary polished.

Ordered mine though Costco about a year ago, it is the large one with 2 canisters and came with 2 bags of additional resin. Last time I looked Costco didn't include the additional resin refill unfortunately.
It is really the only way to go for speed and like the OP said no water spots. I use with my pressure washer, but only for the rinse, that way resin will last much longer. I use all the time and have not had to replace the resin yet. It's expensive, but once you get, you will not want to go back. Also your cars finish will stay nice, because you don't need to use any drying towels if you use a master blaster, other than in the door jambs etc.

Never had Opti-Coat, so I couldn't say. But with 5 cars it is a life saver. I used on one of my Black cars when I first got it in the HOT sun then just walked away, as a test. I came back about an hour later and no water spots at all, was amazing because the water in CA has a lot of dissolved minerals.
