Default No news yet of CarPlay maps fix

It is several months since an Apple/JLR update (??) caused a problem with CarPlay navigation voice instructions from Siri or Waze.
I was incorrectly advised last week by JLR NA customer service that a software update was ready but needed to be installed at the dealership instead of OTA.
After talking with my local JLR service manager, that appears to be incorrect.
While he agreed that it is significant issue he still as no idea regarding the fix.

The original word was that the "fix" would be available in August as an OTA update. Obviously, that didn't happen. Since then, JLR's "solution" has been to roll back ICTP to the prior version, before the bug was introduced. There has been a LOT of discussion on this on the fpaceforum.com. Some have been told there is a 21B release coming this month, but others have been told it only addresses Android, not IOS. It's sort of a shame for those who were early adopters of the buggy ICTP system, who then had to pay for the CarPlay alternative (since made free), but now crippled.

It looks suspiciously like JLR has moved on from ignoring legacy ICTP systems in favor of ignoring problems with Pivipro.

Meanwhile, you can do a work around, of sorts, by using the Mode button on the steering wheel to switch the audio over to CarPlay. It cuts off Jaguar audio, but will get back IOS & Waze. You can use either, but not both at the same time.

Thanks Uncheel.
The work around with the MODE button did th job, though I am a bit confused by the MODE button functionality.
I was unable to find any clear reference to that button in the manual - probably missed it.

Is this not fixed with iOS 15.0.2?

AFAIK, it just scrolls through all the media sources.

No. The issue is with JLR's software, not IOS and Android.

Yes, unfortunately that is correct.
Prior to reading the above, I anxiously downloaded the IOS update and went for a drive.
Did not work. But at least the MODE button workaround helps.
I just need to find a way to stop my Audibles books playing over the nav. instructions!!
Damned technology!!
