No Service Required Indicator

The in service date for my 2018 is April 30, 2019. As it was getting close to the one year anniversary of that date I called the dealer to see when it was due for the annual maintenance. The dealer said anytime in May.
I was expecting the service required indicator to light up at some point soon. As of today it has yet to come on. Not wanting to miss the scheduled maintenance I made an appointment to get it done today.
Is it common for the indicator to not light up? I read one other post where it was mentioned. I may be a special case since the car was parked most of the winter and with quarantine going on it has not been out much. I just hit 800 miles on the odometer today.
