The way I look at it is Jag ceased production of the RWD F-Type R for a reason. Mostly safety my guess. The AWD is an abundantly safe and composed in most all conditions, Rain, Snow, and giving your friend Paul Walker a hot ride. It would be a shame if you had a chance to own the brilliantly engineered AWD car and choose to save a few bucks instead. For those that own one, I'm sure they love it and accept its limitations. For you, hands down the AWD.

550 PS or 542 HP.
Unchanged right through to MY 2020 except for the SVR which is 575 PS or 567 HP.

My AWD R will predictably slide its tail out in 1st and 2nd gears, and that's enough fun for me personally.
I want a powerful everyday sports car that is still somewhat easy to handle.

If I am at a racetrack with a good instructor, I would want to try doing a big slide in RWD R for sure.

Awesome thanks everyone. Additionally I was seeing 495 hp for a V8 and was getting concerned that the 2015 was only rated that high

yes of course

I meant to say learning to drift at a tracetrack. Driving fast at the track would be a different thing to learn.

AMG driving academy has performance orientated courses, and drift courses. lol

For some reason, the concept of drifting never appealed to me, but again, that’s why they offer menus at restaurants.

2014 & 2015 V8 RWDs are rated at 495 at the crank. In fact they dyno 495+ at the wheels. The early V8s are rated something over 4 secs 0-60, but they'll rip off mid 3s all day long. Dont know why Jag sabotages their own numbers.

Tpaxc: Here's Jonny and Randy on the AWD F Type. Lots of lip on looks, just go to the driving. Most on this forum have seen the vids I'm posting already. Wanted to provide them for you as a prelude to your test driving (please make sure you drive both before buying).

Unhingd: Here's one for you to ring out 2018. Drifting isn't my cup of tea either. Catching air looks interesting but tough on the spine.

I do indeed love hill hopping in WV. Given the weight distribution on the V6, the F-Type handles it true and level. It's very critical to maintain a dead center steering wheel during the entire jump and have the DSC totally turned off.

Here's one such road here in Maryland, but the ones in WV are tighter requiring less velocity for lift-off.

So I opted to go for a 2015 F-type R Just picked it up today and put 250 miles on it from Jacksonville FL back home to Tampa. Really enjoying the car so far. Thank you for everyone’s input

Congrats and welcome to the fun. Good luck in convincing yourself to get out of the car! If your like most of us it takes a crowbar and a need to use a bathroom to consider stopping driving it.

Maybe the issue is your file size (the size of your pictures) is too large. There is a limit that is posted in a table by file type when you upload them. I believe you have enough posts for permission to upload photos.

I'd suggest resizing to no more than 1500 pixels on the longest side - no point in uploading massive files to display on the web - we haven't all got wall sized monitors!

Have you uploaded photos previously? If not, ignore this as it may not help you at all.
But, recently I suddenly was unable to upload and tried all sorts of things, including resizing.
What finally worked for me was to delete all of the photos in my album/gallery (whatever it's called) and start all over.
