The most I've seen in one place was at a Jaguar "Beyond Limits" event at Millbrook proving ground in Bedfroshire - 24 in total of which 6 were V6, the rest V8. Flooring the V8 up the straight mile was fun - got up to an indicated 168mph before having to panic brake (at 3/4 mile) as the road ended with a sharp right hand turn!

I am local t the area, they are planning a re-paving this year.
Per the Tennessee DOT:
The project is currently scheduled to be let in late March but anticipate the work would not begin until late April/early May at the earliest and be complete by early to mid-summer. These projects do typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete but the major traffic impacts would be 3 to 4 weeks of that timeframe. The paving operations will close one lane in the area of work and will be a moving operation. The traffic will be controlled by flagging operations and the work should move quickly once started.
Typically the work schedule is flexible between the letting date and the contract completion date which has not been established at this time, but once the contractor has started work he is required to continue work until project is complete. Based on recent schedules , most of our contractors have typically been working Monday through Friday from 7 or 8 am to 5 or 6 pm unless there is a bad weather day during the week that may force the contractor to work on Saturday, but when no work is occurring on the project, all lanes will be open.

Rodney all good info. We knew that and found the gentleman from DOT that manages that region and county (Blount). He was clear it will not be an issue and even added that there s a clause in the let that the road be open that weekend for either Car and Driver or Road and track--sorry do not remember which. He also stated the contractors in general do not work on the weekends.

Holding off on official registration until a few more pieces come together. No cost to participate (other than your personal expenses) but we do need a count of attendees to help coordinate with the locations we will visit. Details coming soon. For now, save the dates. There will be a Friday drive in the Asheville area. Saturday TOD loop. Sunday will be Fontana Dam and morning drive.

TOD has been on my bucket list for awhile now. Was going with PCA, then something came up, then was going with BMW group, then something came up
. Maybe 3rd time will work? Is this organized with hotel, meals, set locations/schedule, etc.. Or more informal, and just show up?
