What is the normal temperature range that the thermostat on a V6-S should be controlling to?
We know the Jaguar coolant temperature display is software damped to display a reading right in the middle between the coolant temp ranges of roughly 180F to 235F. Decision by jag not to alarm customers if the gage were to rise and fall during normal operation. However by the time the gage starts to go up (over 240F and you notice, it's possibly game over!
So on my 2017 V6F-Type-S with 26k miles, I've been monitoring my fully warm operational temperature range using live data on a scan tool and was surprised to see mine running between 218F and a max of 226F in current MI outside spring temperatures of 40 to 60 degrees F . A friends 2016 F-Type-S runs at around 180F. I am wondering if mine has a possible problem or it's within normal range?
Coolant Temp at 226F while causing in rain at outside temp of 50F

Hard to say but I think 180 F. is WAY too low?
All modern cars run hot by design and yours is in the range so probably OK.
I find that it's best to monitor your car for a while to see how it reacts regardless of what it should do?
So many differences in operating conditions so watch and get comfortable with how your cars works and acts.
For instance I run a DC voltmeter in my power port. I have read that my XJ should hold 12.6 VDC when off or it's time for a new battery but mine never has and always settles at around 11.6 VDC after the car has been sitting. My factory battery is coming up on it's 10th anniversary too (This September)! It's the longest lasting battery I have ever had and it's factory!
At least your V-6 has an oil pressure sensor heck they don't have any way to measure oil pressure on the V-8 at all!

Thanks…for the insights…I’m astounded that the V8 has no oil pressure sensor/ monitoring!
I don't see how 180F can be right at all. A pretty typical thermostat rating for older cars is 180F. I'd expect something from 210-225F, which matches the readings in the first post. I used to see up to 230F on one of my motorcycles in hot weather and going slowly. It was that way from new and is about 60K miles now. Reminds me that I need to get it out of mothballs ...
