NY State, northern part, see what or where as a tourist ; may 2020.
Our daughter wil do a year at Cornell [Ithaca] and we want to go to her graduation. We fly through Toronto as fares and carrental are a lot cheaper.
We stay about 5 days around at Ithaca and 4 days before and after. But I don't have the faintest idea [ except for Niagra falls..] what to do or see...
Anybody has an idea [ museum, monument, historical site, natural wonder..] worth our while in this general area to see ? Never been to the USA before..

OMG there are SO many wonderful places to go in the Finger Lakes region that I don't know where to begin.
(We have combined many trips to Watkins Glen Intl racetrack with local touring...)
From museums for china plates to drain tiles to dirt-track racing and glass, there are lots of choices.
I think that the best action would be to see what you like at the NY State Tourism website

You think I'm kidding about drain tiles? "Johnston House and Drain Tile Museum" We stumbled onto this one year whilst looking at wineries and historic houses. https://genevahistoricalsociety.com/...ohnston-house/
Drain tiles were a major innovation in increasing productivity of farmed land!

This will get you started for somethings you may want to see in the immediate vicinity:

I am in Ithaca often on business and if schedules align I could possibly meet you to say hello and welcome you to USA. Also, Ithaca is considered locally as the southern tier of the state. Many good white wine producers.

Thing is : we wanted to come around the 9th of mai, as that is the final exam.. .. works out that before this date our dear daughter is bizzy with exams and after she is bizzy with having fun with friends...
We were supposed to come around the 24th when the its the 'big day' for all pupils who are finshed that year, but for us thats impossible..
So we cancelled the whole trip...

@jaguny
Would be nice indeed to put a person behind the postings, so many different people drive F-Types..
If you would like to meet MANY members from across the pond...
This is your chance: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...europe-220450/
