Default Occasional loss of connection with iPhone, but sometimes just the phone part?

Sometimes when starting the car (2015 F-Type R) the audio portion of my iPhone will connect, but not the phone part. When this happens, trying to reconnect from either the iPhone or the car never works.

It only happens about once a week or so. Yesterday it happened, and when I shut down the engine and restarted, both audio and phone connected again.

I tried redoing the Bluetooth sync after it happened the first time, but it still happens occasionally.

I remember reading about some sync issues that iOS 8 had, but I'm running iOS 6.1.3, so it's not an iOS 8 issue for me (I don't like upgrading my phones unless absolutely necessary because I had a horrible update on an iPhone once that almost bricked it).

Anybody else had any strange connection issues with their phones? Any software updates on the Jag side I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, support people would tell you to try the latest iOS first. However, iOS 8.x has made my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S extremely slow for web browsing, etc, so it's hard for me to recommend it. But I never have any phone issues.

Solution for that is to upgrade to the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.

I had the same problem and that is what worked for me.

No question. But I hate rewarding bad behavior.

Well, they are designed to operate best with the OS that they ship with. So, if you don't upgrade they run fine and plenty fast.

I wanted the new OS and faster devices, so upgrading was a win-win for me.
