Judd T311R wheel - a very affordable wheel set.
Nothing too fancy, I had only the rear ET value changed for a 10mm wider stance.

You are impressed with the new buildings. But these are imposed by JLR as their 'corporate image' , around here they look identical to your dealer. I find it annoying since I do not like to meet with a receptionist with high heels and lipgloss,
unless she is a mechanic and she understands my questions and can commute these to a mechanic. It seems like JLR now only aims at corporate or professional buyers, not on the private individual that wants to buy a new car.
Its just a 'marble palace' that increases the cost base for the dealer and so he needs a higher margin, so your car and services get more expensive !
My local dealer was 'convinced' to sell his dealership to a big group, while they were the 2nd Landrover ever to be opened in the Netherlands. Clients came there BECAUSE it was a mechanic at the reception, you could walk into the
workshop, discuss with the mechanic and see a problem or broken part with your own eyes. That way you learn as a customer about the way mechanics work and think and how creative they often are in helping the client.
If in the future [ this dealership will soon move to the same 'blob' building on a new location ], if am not allowed in the workshop or can not speak with a mechanic, I will change either garage or brand of car to one where I can talk with
the one who actually does the job. Maybe I am old fashioned, but this is the way I do business.

Like Dan, I'm old-fashioned and have just had the 2nd year service done by a local independent. He's not a Jag specialist but he knew the answers to all my Jag questions, and has access to Topix to do everything that's necessary. Because it's a small operation, I get to see what they're doing to the car, and they don't (or didn't appear to!) mind me hovering around as they worked. They did a proper oil drain (no vacuuming) and also removed the wheels (possibly for the first time!) to make sure they hadn't stuck to the hubs (the fronts had) and greased the hubs to avoid problems in the future. I bet a dealer wouldn't do that unless it's not on the service sheet. And half the labour rate of the dealer, so a better job at a lower price, what's not to like!

But you are still under warranty ? Thing is, service elswhere equals no goodwill at a major fault..

Warranty is warranty, regardless of where I get the car serviced, so long as it's a VAT-registered business and does the service according to Jaguar specifications. Goodwill I don't need from a dealer who doesn't fix what I put the car in for, and doesn't follow-up on comments on the customer satisfaction report.
Consumer law provides that you don't need to get a scheduled service done at a JLR dealership, getting it done by an accredited independent workshop preserves the warranty. That and the fact that my local JLR dealership offers crap service and charges like a wounded bull is why I have never used the dealership for a scheduled service. Of course now that my F-Type is out of warranty and has been for 15 months I do all servicing and maintenance myself and save a bundle!

With me its different. I bought the car a year ago and it came with 3yrs service and guarantee. Also my garage isn't crap and the people that work there I know since years.
Lately, since the take-over things are changing. Mechanics are leaving as they are not one of the four, but one of 300 spread over the country and not heared.
This means I have to re-think my brand loyalty too. With the FT its simple for the near future.
The Discovery, maybe I'll replace it with an X5 BMW, I am happy with the 216AT shopping trolley BMW..
You don't have this in the US/CA ? Small MPV, 3-cyl 1499cc 100-140hp. One hybrid 4WD..
[ I removed the pic as this is the FT picture thread].

I can't speak to any other JLR dealerships except mine (who is very responsive) and Scarborough , where MaineJagMike is the GM. Having met Mike myself on a road trip, experiencing his over the top support for our road trip group, his and his dealership's hospitality, his friendship, and knowing other trusted forum members (and now friends) who know him well and do business there, I wish I was nearby as I would bring my business to him. I don't think every dealership is the same regardless of corporate mission.

For me it was a difficult choice, as I love it but my son hates it. Since I'm only the 'keeper' of the car, he will drive it longer then me.
In januari 2027 my son gets it, or before if my back gives in.
