Check out the Ghost Tour thread for a whole lot more pix, that’s where we’re putting them...

Nice pix - I like the red brakes and grill growler with that blue. Nice combination.

Well I have been lurking here for awhile and have finally decided to post. I have dreamed of an F-Type since the first time I ever saw one. Last year my Uncle (and friend) traded in his XK for this 2018 F-Type sent me the pics to let me droll over her, I teased him I was catching the next flight from Ohio to Florida to come and drive it with him. Fast fwd 1 year later and he suddenly passed away 1 month after a vacation together. My Aunt wanted my wife and I to take the car and enjoy it and take care of it the way Mark did. So we flew to FL and drove her home, the car is everything he described and everything I thought it would be AMAZING! It is bitter sweet I think of him every time I get in her and appreciate the amazing gift he left. Here are 2 pics 1 from the drive home and 1 after ceramic coating was done.

Went to the Hawk's Nest; was super crowded but thankfully there were some quiet stretches of road further north on the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway.

Here's what the Hawk's Nest (NY Rt 97) looks like on a day when it's not crowded.

How old is that photo? The trees have grown quite a bit since then and you can't see the road so clearly any more. I'm guessing maybe 20 years ago?
The crowd was bad but the most obnoxious thing was the boy racer cars with fartcan exhausts that kept driving by faster than they should considering the high pedestrian traffic here. There was a ratty 350Z with missing bodywork that made probably 10 passes going back and forth.

I waited it out until everyone else left, after sunset, to get the photo I wanted.

Nice photo!

The one I grabbed was from the I Love New York website. Judging from the cars, 25 - 30 years ago seems right.

The curves are still bodacious. As are some of the County Routes across the Delaware in the NJ State Forests. And farther up into Sullivan Co. near Monticello Motorsports Park.

Cosshog, Uncle Mark sounds like a true car guy - wanted someone who would appreciate the car and take care of it. I think he made a wise decision to leave it to you. I have also thought of who I might leave my car to if I were to pass prematurely. My spouse could care less - she likes the looks, but doesn't like the ride - too stiff (sports car) - she prefers a luxury ride. She says a car's purpose is to get from point A to point B. Although a lot of my relatives like my car, I have a 7yr old grandson who absolutely loves the car. He begs me relentlessly to take him for a ride every time i drive it to his home, even if it's just around the block. I enjoy the big smile he has on his face for the whole ride. I think if I left the car to him, I'd put in a condition that he couldn't get the car until his 24th birthday - too much car for a 16yr old teenager with a new drivers license.

Your car is beautiful - as are all F-Types! Welcome to the club.

So true my wife says the same thing, she can't understand why all my buddies and neighbors are stopping over to see "the car" or want to go for a spin. I love this car so much i sold both my Harleys (i wasn't riding that much anymore with 3 kids under 12) but I and they love going for rides in Uncle Mark's car. Took my 11y/o son to cars and coffee event today and had a great time and met another F-type owner. Whole new world that lets me involve my kids (unlike motorcycles) and i love it.
Thank You All for kind welcoming words

Great stories. It’s true this car does open up new worlds and new friends and experiences. When I bought mine 5+ years ago I had no idea that I would be going to cars and coffee events, meeting interesting people from all walks of life, finding that people just passing by at the gas station or parking lot asking to see it or commenting on the car so favourably. It never fails to put me in a good mood when that happens and it makes me feel better about the world. Also who knew that in joining this forum about this car that new lifelong friends have been made participating in Rickyjays Lobster Run and Blueberry and Ghost Run events (been to all 6). He has even managed to get me to go to museums! I lead a much richer life now without ever realising it. The car is a wonder and this forum really captures its magic to be shared.

Ok I’ll admit the museum above is the Owls Head Transportation Museum featuring vintage cars and aircraft.....but I swear I went to several museums of art also!

Love the color, but the front plate has got to go...just pay the fine if you get stopped.
