I don't have any problems seeing out of the windows at all. I'll have my detailer run his tint meter on the car to determine what level it is and I'll let you know.

Hello from FullChat
Hi, guys! So glad to find this forum - I just got my F-Type and still have many questions.
I know that Ian Callum has been designing this car for 25 years, and finally got it right. I did, however, feel that the black accent pieces detracted from the lines of the car, bringing the focus away from the beautiful lines, and so I thought I'd show you what I did to mine so far.
I painted the front lip spoiler. the hood vents, and the duct grills body color. The lip black spoiler looked like a missing tooth to me, and I hated the hood vents being a focal point.
For some reason, I don't seem to be able to put in multiple pics, so I guess that it's multiple posts.

I'm still looking or a nickname for the car. I thought about Great White (remember the song Rock Me?) but it's not a R, and also thought about Pure Vanilla. Many of you will think it should be Plain Vanilla, I'll bet ;-)))))))))))) but that's how I roll (its my DD, and sometimes I go places that my wife shouldn't know about, so...).
BTW, the beautiful backgrounds, like on the side shot, are because there is a new house being built next door and I'm too lazy to drive around and find a pretty background ;-)
The paint is kinda experimental - but it's only $1200, so if I change my mind, no biggie.

I was referring to the 1994 Aston Martin DB7. OK, 22 years ;-)). If you see the two side by side, your comment would probably be that you liked the new rear end, but everything else (except, of course, for the Aston grill) was the same...

No plastic dip - it's just paint. I said experimental because I only have $1200 in paint, so re-painting parts wouldn't be expensive if I change my mind.
I think I'm finished with the white-out. I thought about doing the chrome fender vents, but decided against it on the way to the paint shop. I'm not gonna mess with the grill - and there isn't a lot of black left ;-)).
It's NOT the black that I object to - it's that the black trim grabs your eye and de-emphasizes the beautiful lines of the car. You look at the beautiful hood and what do you see? Two black vent grills. From the side, the black diffuser, fender vent grills, and brake grills break up the lines - and the front grills show up as black semi-circles. In the rear, you're not looking at the beautiful hips, you're looking at the black diffuser. I'd like for the car to look like it was carved out of one piece of - well not ivory, but you get the idea (OK, with a cockpit and front grill ;-)).
When I lived in Germany, I bought a Porsche 928 that was already totally monochromatic - the wheels were even painted white - and my love for that car on the Autobahn (probably 10k miles above 140 mph) may have influenced me with the F-Type...
We all have our visions about this car - just thought I'd show ya mine. I enjoy looking at other peoples visions, so thanks for sharing.

F12guy - The IRR with the black looks stunning. With the rear tints, how dark were they? I' going to order some film, and want to just do a light smoke, i.e I want to still see the red lenses, but just tone them down a bit.
Fullchat - Nice car, but really? Too much white IMO, but if you like it, knock yourself out

Almost forgot...I had the badges Hydrodipped and I stuck them on with 3M automotive tape. What a PITA to cut out each individual letter...took me ages, but I think that the Piano black works with the IRR better than chrome.
Tips are temporarily satin black to see if I can live without any chrome on
the rear.
