Squeak at 1100 revs
[QUOTE=pbad;1467117]Started hearing a quick squeak/chirp between 1000-1100 RPM, whether or not the vehicles was stationary or in motion on my '14 V8S. They determined it was an issue with the dynamic exhaust valves. I wasn't thrilled about not having my new (to me) F-Type gone for a week but they ultimately replaced the entire muffler assembly to resolve the issue. Getting a brand new muffler/exhaust valves/tips for free made it somewhat tolerable. Note their book and the SA referred to this part as a "silencer".
Exactly the same issue here with a 2014 model, very loud, replicable every time car drops over 1100 rev line (stationary or being driven). Turn on active exhaust and the range of the squeak goes from 1100-1300.
Dealer fix being applied next week, I'll see how effective and what work they actually do vs the above.

I have more of a buzz than a squeak, but at the same 1000-1100 RPM. Have always had a resonance a bit higher up (~1500RPM), which the dealer said was the active exhaust vacuum pump, and they'd be happy to remove it. I suspect it's the dust shields on the rear brakes, as they make a similar sound when I hit them with a hose when washing.
Out of warranty, and can't see paying for new exhaust components.

same problem
When I put my car in park, sometimes it shuts off the ignition without me touching the Start button, meaning I have to turn the ignition back on to adjust windows, roof, radio, etc.
Doesn't do this in Dynamic Mode, or with ECO mode turned off. I believe I've been told there's a firmware fix for this.
Edit: got in the car yesterday (after pulling it out of winter storage). After driving it, I left it in the garage with the roof down. Got in it to put the roof up; turned on the ignition, but didn't start the engine. Roof wouldn't move unless I started the engine. I've found it's inconsistent - most of the time, I can raise/lower the roof without starting the engine, but not always.
[The check engine light came on after pulling it out of storage. If it doesn't go out on its own, I'll be taking it in.]

ive got same issue in my 2016 F-Type R convertible. Did the firmware upgrade fix the problem for you?
i have not gone into the dealer yet.
Thanks!

Ooh, that's an old post. Never tried to have it updated, but it's 100% correlated to letting ECO mode shut the car off, instead of me turning it off. ECO does a 'harder' shutdown - windows/roof won't work, even if you turn on the ignition without starting the car. Have to start the car for the roof to work again.
Solution: don't use ECO mode. Or, if ECO mode is on, turn off the car by pushing the start button before you remove your seatbelt - that's what triggers it, if the transmission is in P.

You should design a replacement part. I don't think solid coupler is good approach, as per manufacturer "The purpose of the shaft is to better distribute the stresses in the torsional spring and prolong its life." To me this indicates that solid coupler will lead to premature SC shaft failure in our use case.

Noisy fuel pump
As reported by JackMac in this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-noise-184014/
NHTSA ID: 10096747
TSB ID: JTB00394NAS3
Situation: a metallic 'clicking' / 'rasping' noise may be evident from the engine is at idle speed and when the engine is cold. cause: this may be caused by a noisy high pressure fuel pump

Last couple of days mine has developed a rattling sound in the same location (just in front if the instrument cluster) but sounds more like a loose piece of sheet metal. Only occurs at slow speed over rough surface.

Please keep me posted. I have to go out of town for a few days and can't look into it for a couple weeks. I'm hoping it's just a loose heat shield or something similar.

There was a problem with the spot welding from what I understand and they need to send it out to a body shop and have it corrected. There is no other fix, and It will only come back, i.e. putting any dampening in their will mask it temporarily, but the perm. fix is what is required. Good Luck

I had a rattling metal sound in my center dash passenger airvent, fairly deep into the dash, only when on and "up". Repaired a year ago under warranty. I have my 32K service Thursday, and am going to have them check a brand new rattle further upstream, closer to front window, and deeper under dash. It is a ringing/rattling that sounds like sheet metal. Same sound, deeper in the car.
Sounds like a common problem. Ride hard under warranty and find it early.
Will keep you posted.

Thanks for the info. Much better than something deep inside the dashboard.
