I found an engine puddle and leak in front of the left rear wheel between wheel arch and bottom panel, Strange place for an engine oil leak. Car is a 2015 convertible 6 cyl north america specs with 40 000 kms.
Anybody with similar experience? advice? Hints on where the leak is coming from? No sign of oil anywhere else on the bottom of the car

Get a mirror and see what or where the fluid is dripping from. What’s your engine oil level look like? Also, stand on the brakes with the engine running with the car sitting in a new location to see if you can create a new oil spot (or if the brake pedal slowly goes to the floor. Touch a bit of that fluid to the tip of your tongue to see if it’s sweet (coolant) or tastes like alcohol (wiper fluid).

Brakes checked fine. the bottom of the car is sealed well enough that I can't find the source of the leak but as someone mentioned it MUST be a leak from the convertible top mechanism.
This is an area of the car that I am completetely unfamiliar with. I can see the potential for a pretty nightmarish job!
Is there a way to distinguish unambiguously between engine oil and hydraulic oil? Hydraulic oil used to remove paint, but newer hydraulic fluids don't necesarilly do that any more

Not to get cocky, but there was a topic recently about the top's cavity drains being blocked by leaves or debris. Worth checking so that you don't burn out one of the motors. Would be great if the liquid is only water.
Lower the top 3/4 of the way, open a door to stop it, then peer down into the lower hinge area and look for drain holes about 3/4 inch in diameter. Be sure those are clear. We THINK the exit of the drains is just in front of the wheel arches.
