Only happens once a year - Black Friday 2023 Savings from VelocityAP
Hello F-typers!
I know you've all been waiting for this one. Lots of killer Jag stuff is included. If you have a local VAP dealer who you work with - remember that you can get these same great deals through our dealer network.

Do we have to use regional dealers? Scuderia Autoart displays almost nothing on their site, anld I'd personally much rather deal with VAP direct than pay an extra 25% to add a middle man...
Thanks

Every time I have checked the Oz Scuderia Autoart site they have next to no listings for any F-Type and/or VAP products, and with their exorbitant price hikes over the VAP prices it would make much more sense to get a friend in the US or Canada to buy the item then ship it to Oz.

I'm confident that this question has been asked countless times but wouldn't know where to start searching on all the VAP posts and I can't find the answer on their site. What is the net gain for the ECU tune (tune only, no pully change, etc.) on the 380HP V6? All I can find is that the 340 HP V6 ends up the same end total gain, whatever that is..........

So if you start with the 380 PS of the S the total gain is 36 HP (if you take PS to be the same as HP which it is not really, HP is around 1.4% less than PS).
On the VAP site you have to drill down (select) through the various pulley and tuning tool options before you get to the 416 HP figure, start here: https://www.velocityap.com/product/3...26-ecu-tuning/

I still have not gone the bully/tune route and I have had the car 3 years. I usually do an ECU upgrade within the first year on prior cars. Is the self install of the upper pulley that difficult? My local shop wanted a ridiculous amount of money to do this upgrade. If I recall it was about $1500 in labor. And I see VAP now seems to sell a tool for the upper pulley install. Anyone used it before and is it really needed?

@Whatsnext - I did a self install upper pulley on my V6. Although I'm a trained mechanic, I'd say any reasonably competent DIYer could do this on the driveway within an hour, if you have all the tools ready to go.
1. Yes, you will definitely need a compatible puller to remove the old pulley. This is a no going back step as you will buckle/distort the old pully due to the interference fit on the supercharger input shaft. At first you will think the pulley is not going to come off, as you wind on the tension, but you usually get a 'crack' as the interference fit is broken, then it's easy the rest of the way. Do NOT heat the old pulley to help with removal, as you will damage the snout oil seal/bearing.
2. The only other special tools you will need are Welders Gloves, a butane blow torch, and a big jug of water.
Rather than explain the process, it's all detailed in this VIEZU video -->
It's actually an XF, but all the mechanicals and steps to remove and replace are exactly the same. Most upper pulleys are stainless steel. You don't need to get the new pulley cherry red before fitting, the pulley will turn a golden brown colour when it's hot enough for fitting.
3. Access to the front of the engine is tricky with the F Type due to the clamshell bonnet. I removed the engine cover, used a thick polystyrene pad to kneel on and worked from above. Step stool at front wheel, with protective mat over wing for access to top of engine.
And just to prove you can do it on the driveway -->
ECU will adjust fueling to compensate for the additional air flow, but a dyno tune will get the most out of the additional boost.
No way could you justify $1500 in labour for this.
