Default Opinions please, black or chrome lug nuts for my wheels?

I'm a few weeks away from switching to my Winter rims/tires. Being this change of wheels will be an annual practice, and having read a few threads on the poor design and potential problems with the stock 2 piece lug nuts, I figured now would be a good time to purchase new, solid steel nuts, specifically the Gorilla 73138's.
I'm debating on sticking with chrome or trying the black version.
Which do you think would look best with my wheels? Anyone running black lug nuts on silver/chrome wheels?
I'm leaning more towards sticking with chrome so I can continue to use the locking nuts. However, having read the locking nuts have their own issues (misplaced key sockets and difficultly getting replacements) also considering leaving those off.
Decisions, decisions....

I think the chrome ones look better with those wheels.

I'll second the vote for chrome.

Since you are planning to keep the locking lugs, CHROME.

I have removed the locking lug nuts on every car I've owned that came with them, starting with a 1988 Mustang 5.0!

Chrome, definitely! And, I second the motion to remove the locking lugs. That is a sweet looking F!

If you keep the locking nuts, please position them above the leaper's head for symmetry.

Not to pile on, but yes, alignment of the center cap to the locking lug and valve stem is important - we are not animals here.

I vote for chrome. Looks good with the bright trim on your car.

By the way, the Growler center caps on my new 2021 were misaligned with the valve stems anywhere from a few degrees to 90 degrees. I suppose when the time comes for new tires I will ask the shop to align them. I'm slightly OCD about such things but not enough to jack the car up, pull all four wheels and do it myself at the moment.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I was leaning chrome as well. Placing the order this afternoon! Oh, I'll be replacing the growler center cap on these wheels with the OEM union jack center caps once they are off and I'll be sure to orient them appropriately.

OR you could fit these glow-in-the-dark, self aligning center caps. We have the growler, and he appreciates the fact that he no longer gets dizzy!

(Hey, its the wife's F, she gets what she wants as long as it doesn't slow the car down, LOL)

++++++++++++++++

PS: If I felt controversial, I'd suggest aligning the growler's CHIN with the tire valve! <<DUCKS>>
I have removed wheels to align center caps...on our Lotus, they clip in from the REAR.

I've seen posts from people who claim to have removed the caps with the aid of a credit card and judicious levering (not by paying someone else to do it!) without removing the wheels. Or when you get your tires done, tell the shop you'll fit the caps yourself - that's how I do it.

Yep, I'll be replacing them myself once these wheels are off. It's a very simple push from the inside. The Winter wheels have the red growlers so at least part of the year they will still be on the car.

I have no shame to admit that I found that the suction cup from a radar detector mount works just fine to pop out the cap and allows one to reposition or properly align it.

I tried using the suction cups on some bathroom towel hooks I had but couldn't get them to seal enough to actually remove the caps. Good tip about using that mount - I should have tried my Tomtom mount!

Whoa! Aren't radar detectors...illegal?! The horror! "I only have this radar detector because it was connected to this 'wheel center cap remover device', Officer". I like this defence, I hope it works.

He only used the mount, so probably bought that separately - no detector involved.

Those 'sticky cup' suction cups hold LOTS better than regular suction cups. (And on our car, they are not that far away from the center caps.)

I went for black silicone covers on my silver lugs, I like how the black looks on these wheels. My experience with anodized black lugs is that they wear through on the edges from the lug wrench and don't stay black very long, so didn't want to risk that. Plus these keep them a bit cleaner.

On your wheels, though, I agree that chrome looks excellent!
