Default Orange Start button

Anyone swap out a black start button for an Orange one? The part is available for about $100.

I would think most people would want to do it the other way around. You could probably swap the part with someone, but the hassle of getting to it might be prohibitive.

Saw some new R convertibles in London on Berkeley St. All had black start switches. Maybe ignis Orange is not so popular after all.

The ignis orange start button and paddles were dropped for 2016 by JLR.

Yes, I think they now only come on the V6S. I know the V8s and base V6 are now black. They were always black on the base.

Default Installed my Ignis Orange start button

Just returned from Cozumel and my button was waiting for me. Rather than prying off the console surround(they never quite fit back as tight) I tried to directly pull out the button. I needed something thinner than a credit card but stronger than a business card. The perfect thing was Hillary contributors card. I just worked it in around the edge of the button and yanked and out came the old one. At least I got something for my contribution. Now, instead of just glowing slightly in the white lettering, it screams start. I looked at my MY2016 brochure and every console shot had an ignis orange button. In fact, they had an entire page that was just the Orange start button. I was a bit disappointedly that my car had a black switch but that has been corrected now.

WTF?! You need to find a new source. Retail is only about $40? I got mine for about $26 new picked up from my local dealer. If you want one let me know.

I bought one for $33 off Ebay inc shipping. Just as a spare because of all the wear stories.

Here's a listing:
JAGUAR OEM 14-17 F-Type Center Console-Start Button T2R18771 | eBay

It took maybe 5 minutes to swap it out.

I did it, really easy swap, the DC power port on the other side is a whole 'nother can of worms though. (I replaced the dash components with the R carbon fiber look stuff later). But it basically just snaps out and back in. Use a dash kit (soft plastic tools not a screw driver to pop it or pop out the whole dash fascia and push it out from the back. But about a 10 minute job. I hated the orange.

I'd like a translucent red button, where the whole button pulsates and lights up.
