I have problem with choosing the color for 2016 S Coupe. This never happened with any other car I had
I know I am selecting for myself, but I would like to ask you, who have/had dark blue coupes - how other people react to it, do you recieved compliments or is it more under the radar?
I wanted dark blue with chrome, silver rims and white interior. But there are zero of these colors in my area, and I only saw that once and it looked a bit too dark but it could be the condition. What concerns me is, that I love that "drop-like" shape of the ***, but you need contrast with the black bottom diffuser for this shape to fully appear.
Don’t recall if sapphire blue was available that year, but every picture I’ve seen of it with bright wheels has been stunning. I looked at Loire Blue for my XE last year, and found it too metallic (mostly black in bright sun) for my taste.
The sapphire blue was available in 2016 but they are not real easy to find. I shopped for about a year to find the blue exterior with white performance seats.
I get compliments but I would say more for the car itself and not necessarily the color.

Thanks!
I looked at a Sapphire Blue car in person. Its nice but like you I thought it was pretty dark, almost like black with a blue pearl. All pearls look pretty drab on a cloudy day.
is this accurate? It seems, that the Sapphire Dark Blue / Loire blue is the same and it is the "bit too dark" blue, but Portofino blue looks great on this video. Anybody know from which year it was avaiable?
EDIT: this looks great but they say Loire blue, but to me it is more like Portofino... Perhaps even dealers don't know, they just check "dark blue" and advert whatever name they can find
I looked for a year to find the color combination that I liked which is Sapphire blue with a tan interior. During that time I found about 50% of the cars to be a version of black, 20% to be white and the remaining 25% to be all of the other colors. I had a black XJS and couldn't keep it clean and white is for pickup trucks (I'm a contractor). It is perfect in bright light where the color really comes out but gets dark as the like diminishes.
