Default Over The Moon

It's been some time since I posted so I started a new thread instead of resurrecting one of the older ones on this same subject.
The subject and reason for the title of this thread? My order for a 2022 F-Type was accepted by the factory Saturday November 13, 2021 (at least that's the date printed on the Order Detail sheets); and I'm over the moon.
I had completely given up hope of ever being able to acquire a new ICE F-Type, to the point of having pre-ordered an Alpha Guilia. I was suffering a severe case of sellers remorse for having sold my 2018 F-Type and there was just nothing out there I really lusted after so the Alpha was a compromise that I felt I could live with for a while. Fortunately the pre-order for the Guilia can be cancelled without penalty.
Any way, sorry to hyperventilate but can't contain my excitement and anticipation of once again being in my dream car.
Order Status: Confirmed
Last Amendment Possible: 1/6/22
Build Date: 2/4/22
Accepted Delivery: 3/25/22
Planned Handover: 3/25/22

Anyone in need of Genuine Jaguar F-Type pedal covers, Part No. C2P23554 let me know. The 2022 comes with them and the ones I removed from the 2018 before handing it over had only been on the car for 6 months. They are listed in the Marketplace section for $100.00 including shipping; they cost $160.00; but I'll accept any reasonable offer.

Everyone have a great day, I know I will.

Nice! Congratulations. I can say this is the first car that I've ever had in my 48 years that I'm not even considering life after it. Like there's really not another car out there I'd rather have. Sure Ferrari's and Lambos are cool, but not practical for attempting to use as daily driver like you can with the F Type. What did you order? Keep us updated.

Outstanding. It's great to be able to order a car exactly the way you wanted it. I second JacksonvilleJag's post, please tell us how you configured your dream car. I wonder if the Castle Bromwich factory shuts down for a few weeks during the holidays ? That may account for some of the lead time. I ordered my 2021 in February and the build order showed a 4 month lead time. Actual delivery was closer to 90 days so I was certainly excited to get it a few weeks earlier than expected. But if the factory will be idle over the holidays, your lead time sounds about right.

Congratulations !

Thank you both, Jacksonville and Dwight.
Details on order are:
Base coupe, P450 RWD
Fuji White
Blind Spot Assist Pack
HomeLink
Panoramic Roof
Keyless Entry
Powered Tailgate/Boot Lid
12-way Heated Memory Front Seats
There is so much more standard in MY 2022 than was optional in 2018 that there is really nothing else I can think of that I may desire or use. If anyone has any suggested "must haves" my order may be amended until 1/6/22 and I'm open for suggestions.

BTW in addition to the pedals covers I mentioned earlier I have a slightly used Race Chip tune for the base model 2018, 340-HP V-6 for sale at $200.00 (Orig. $499.00)

Okay, back to my day dreams and some work for a few hours.

I didn't know you could get the 450 in RWD. That's a bit of a game changer...

That's amazing news, Sarah!! So happy for you!

Did they say if any options would not be available on your car due to the chip shortage? I'm not sure if you remember, but I placed an order back in September and the dealer was able to modify a current allocation to my specs, but I was told that JLR said the car would not have the keyless entry (actually the feature where you push the door handle to pop open) or the powered tailgate (both standard on the R) due to the chip thing.

My car was supposed to be put into production on Oct 22nd, but I haven't checked to see if it's on schedule or not.

I felt that way about my 2001 XK8, then my 2004 XKR, then my 2010 XKR. And then the F-Type was released .....

Yup, that's what I've been driving for the last 18 months. It's "fun"

In terms of order times, I ordered mine at the very end of November 2019 and picked it up early March 2020

Okay eeeeek, you made me double check the Order Details sheet.
The exact wording is F-Type Coupe, P450 RWD, HN152/351RG.
Not that it would have been a deal killer for me but I did want RWD to satisfy the hotrodder in me.

So here's all I know, Fireze22:
The Order Status is "Order Confirmed" and one of the confirmed options is Keyless Entry @ $500.00, if that helps.

I went and checked, as well. Since 2016, the V8s were only available as AWD so I just assumed the new P450 would only be AWD, too. The fact that you can get it as a RWD model makes it one of the best kept secrets in the automotive hooligan world out there. Pick up the RWD P450, get a velocity lower pully and a chip and suddenly you have a 600+ hp (I'm assuming this) RWD tire smoking beast!

When JLR announced the 2022 Ftypes, they said it would come in two options in the US. 450hp RWD V8 and the 550hp AWD V8 versions. To get the higher HP tune you had to have AWD. I do find it a bit amusing that they went with 450 for the RWD which is actually 45hp lower than my 2014 V8S which has 495 factory. I’m glad they are allowing the V8 in RWD again in the US but the logic of it is questionable to me. Other than to make the HP spread wider for an apparent differentiation for marketing purposes.

Happy for you that you are able to step into a brand new RWD V8!

There is evidence that the 495 PS quoted for the V8S was understated and that it quite possibly really had 510 PS, same as the XFR, XKR and XJR of the same vintage.
Which suggests that the P450 may also be understated for the "wider spread" reason, otherwise buyers would baulk at spending the extra for the R just to get a handful of extra cosmetic touches and only a few more neddies.
I for one would love to see a 2022 R and P450 dyno tested one after the other to check the real world difference although AWD vs RWD would muddy the waters.

Congratulations Sarah!!

The only adds in addition to what you already have is that I would order the 2-Zone climate control, the aluminum shifter paddles.

I appreciate your input. I have waffled on the 2-zone climate option, but the standard paddle shifters suited me fine on the 2018.
Thanks again SVR

This longest I've ever owned a car, since 10/13! My mileage is so low, 25k, that I can't find something compelling to make me switch. I believe the '22 450 can be ordered both rwd and awd.
