I can say I just received the mounts you had made and sent to me and they are very nice. Thanks!
I'll echo that. Received the mounts and had them fitted to my grille. They seem to work a treat.
One question though: With the P7 grille installed, it's not possible to fit the towing eye as the honeycombe crosses right in front of the bolt hole. I've not seen this mentioned in this thread so just wondered if anyone had a solution? Mine is carry a small padsaw in the toolkit.

Itsmejoshy pointed out to me that it’s actually the hole partially covered by the surround. I am contemplating the fabrication of an offset plate. What is a padsaw?

As Stohlen says, it's just a straight saw blade with handle at one end and it truly would be a shame to ruin something so rare.
I was wondering if the hole could be repositioned to coincide with an opening in the grille. The left-hand threaded hole is recessed into the steel bumper bar so shouldn't be too difficult.
The reason for the question is twofold. First, recovery drivers usually load a car using the towing eye and winch even if the car's a runner. Second, you need to have a towing eye fitted to participate in a track day for ease of recovery in the event of an 'event.'
Anyone know where the towing eye is positioned on the P7?

Noticed the same thing as I was completing the project. Not just for track tow, its also a problem if you ever want to fit a tow hook mounted front license plate bracket. Perhaps the P7 metal bumper has the TH mount relocated within the bumper so the tow hook fits between honeycombs?

Unhingd is working on an offset adapter but I don't believe he is getting around to it until this coming winter. I "might" have a buddy take on the project.

Count me in as interested, and thanks again for the great wrap on the grille surround!

I have moved that project up on the priority list given Josh’s challenging experience. Have to find a qualified machine shop.
OK... I think I have a solution. It will require sacrificing an OEM tow eye, using a G 37 aftermarket racing tow eye and some machining. I’ll have to remove the nose to get the exact measurements. I might wait until the billet flywheel and heavy duty clutch arrive before I take the car out of commission (in about a month)
Ok, here's my first iteration. Still need to pull the nose to determine a couple of dimensions and will require sacrificing an OEM hook. Below is also the proposed replacement eye. I am also rethinking trying to machine a bolt head onto the end. Maybe a threaded shaft on the end makes more sense. We only have 20mm to work with between the grille and the crossbeam.
Does anyone have an extra OEM tow hook laying around?

Will this bracket somehow lock into the grooves in the bumper bar? My concern would be under stress the bracket rotates a little and the grille becomes toast.....
