P 7 Bumper-less Grille Installed

A number of us have the P7 grille and surround sitting in the corner, ready to go in, as soon as we come up with an elegant solution for mounting the 2 front parking sensors that fit in the crossbar. Just gluing the sensors to the P7 honeycomb just doesn't seem like the right solution for a car of this stature.

The grill and the surround arrived today with the post office. The processing is mediocre, but if the part is installed, this is no longer relevant. I will leave the surround still foliate. Does anyone have a photo of the original park sensors and the dimensions of the diameter? I now have to ask a friend who has pure 3D printer whether he could make these two parts to me.

I have two new sensors at home, ready to be installed as soon as someone can come up with a mounting solution. I will get the full dimensions to you later today.

Is that the same sensor? This would be faster to order for germans.

Now assume the two park sensors with the holder rings have
arrived. Then I leave the insert with the 3 D printer
finished with the appropriate hole for the rings of the
Parkensors. After that I leave the original park sensors.
After installation on the grill, I plug the cable to the
new parking sensors. Is there still something to be encoded
here or only the distance calibrated again?

Please excuse the crappy penmanship. It's tough doing it right with a broken finger.

When I did mine, after removing styrofoam from bar behind grille, the bar was the only thing I had painted in flat black.
2 Instead of mounting sensors with connectors pointing inward, as they do on the original bumper bar, he pointed them outward in order to avoid having wiring exposed behind grille. He glued wires from sensors directly around trapezoids so they can not be seen, and they exit to the side of grille.
3 He then mounted wiring harness to run below grille, (there is a lip below the grille that he fit it into)and then extended sensor wires to go below and around surround. Since sensor wires are not color coded, he colored them with different colored nail polish before he cut them. I thought the sensor wires looked to be about 24 gauge but couldn't find it locally and didn't have time to order it online so I found a couple old power supplys from a radio and an old router which I think is 24 gauge and he cut it up and spliced them in. They work!
Hope this helps.

I have now decided not to mount the grille of Paramount performance.
The quality of the grill is very bad and it was also very badly
processed. I recommend everyone to buy only the original parts of the P7.
Unfortunately you can not order these at the moment. I also do
not like the glue solution, so I stay with the original grille.
Too bad, but I mount no inferior part at a 130,000 € car.
