Well if the car doesn't know they are missing, there wouldn't be a problem.
To be clear; I'm wondering if the proximity alarm will go off if you just unplug them. If I have to mess around with resistors, I may as well mess around with mounting the darn sensors
If you unplug a sensor a fault will be detected, and the whole parking sensor system will be disabled, including the rear.
Thanks, that's exactly what I was afraid of. Guess I'll make some sensor mounts. ....hmm, now that I think about it, I could mount the sensors to the cross bar as long as they clear the grill. hmmmm...
Messing around with the electrics in a big NO NO! A really bad idea the system is so sensitive I wouldn't go there.
I am not sure what DPelletier meant when he refers to mounting the two sensors to the cross bar, surely you don't mean behind the new grille? There is no crossbar with the P7 Grille.
I am considering purchasing an SVR bumper (nose cone), complete with wiring harness, sensors etc.. I have been offered one at a good price, unfortunately it is in the wrong color Ultra blue, my car is Fuji white. So it needs re painting but I have an excellent body shop so no major concerns other that the cost!
I will then get them to fit the P7 grille and surround after painting the grille surround high gloss black to match the Black Pack, its subjective of course but I think leaving it white looks a insipid and the grey doesn't work with the Black Pack.
The body shop can then mess around with repositioning the wiring loom and extending the two front sensor wires and finding a suitable method of mounting the sensors in the new grille. Once completed they can remove the existing bumper section and re fit the SVR front end. Job done car immobilised for 2 hours and the original bumper section fully intact and if necessary replaced.
In the German Forum, an encoder has mentioned that it is possible only to disconnect the two front park sensors. The error in the system would then have to be encoded. I will also ask Jaguar Deutschland and my local Jaguar dealer.
Absolutely correct. It is not possible to delete just two of the four front sensors, its all or nothing at all. (As the Sinatra song goes), showing my age now!
I also just received from the encoder the confirmation that only all front sensors can be deactivated. This, however, only by good coders, not by Jaguar itself. Thus the problem remains.
Nevertheless, they have nevertheless where in the P7 grill the sensors anabringen? The original problem remains
synonymous with the SVR front bumper or?
Nevertheless, they still have to place the sensors in the P7 Grill? The original problem remains synonymous with the SVR front bumper or?
That would be correct. The SVR still relies on the bumper to carry the sensors. That bumper needs to be removed to install the P7 grille. Maybe we could get FrickenJag to build sensor mounts for us. It appears the market demand is increasing.

I'm talking about the aluminum cross member behind the grill, not the plastic "grill bar" dividing the stock grill. When you remove the stock grill, you also need to remove the expanded polystyrene insulation bonded to the aluminum bar.....the bar itself must remain and you can see it in P7 pics. What I was thinking was instead of messing around with gluing plastic sensor mounts to the P7 grill, I may be able to make a metal sensor mount that could be screwed/bolted or rivited to the bar itself and then just have them "poke through" the P7 grill (I own a sheet metal fabrication shop).
As far as I'm aware you don't have an option to disable individual sensors, the choices are none, rear only or front + rear.
....and that puts me firmly back at square one; I don't care if any of the front sensors work or not but wouldn't want to lose the rear ones......if it's going to have a continuous code thrown by disconnecting the front, I'll probably just go back to remounting the sensors....I sure wish the car hadn't come with them
Anyone on the forum with access to a 3D printer and AutoCAD (or equivalent)? As soon as the rear sensors arrive, I will be able to finalize a mounting design.
