Default P7 Style Front Grill Group Buy

Many of you would remember the debacle over the P7 style single piece grill that was “available” for sale but many got burned because it never arrived and had to fight for their money back. I am talking with a source that could help get these as part of a group buy with stock availability delivered to the US in roughly 4-6 weeks (possibly sooner)

Compatible with ‘14-20 model years.

Is there still interest here? Would we be able to find at least 10 interested buyers? Full payment, via Venmo, would be due in advance however the plan would be to hold this in escrow to protect against non-delivery. Right now offering this to US customers only however could open to other areas after this first order.

Please complete this form if interested: https://forms.microsoft.com/r/WFsT4JhrDq

Price would be $775 USD which includes shipping.

My plan is to have a high quality part available. Give me 6-8 weeks and I will report back to the board. It will NOT be a 3D printed part...

I have a single piece incoming to confirm quality and turn around time. Once I can confirm I’ll go from there.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm very interested in this. Two questions. Will they be able to accommodate the parking sensor system? If I have very little car mechanic experience, will I be able to do this on my own? And if not, what should I expect to pay someone to install?

Thank you for this!

Also, can it accommodate the tow hook?

Yes the design is meant to hold the two front parking sensors currently installed in the cross beam plastic cover. It will require some modification to hold the parking sensor in place. Typically a small amount of RTV gasket maker would be enough to secure it.

As for installation. Well that depends on you. I would rate this install about a 2 in difficulty as you do need to remove the front bumper to install it. It’s time consuming but not hard. Just need to be careful to not break any of the wires or washer covers. As far as cost to pay someone else to do the install. It’s probably an hour or hour and half job so whatever their shop rates would be for that time. $150-200 perhaps.

Once you get the sample one and confirm this and quality I let us know. If everything looks good I would be in as well.

They claimed the sample unit would be here in around 15-20 days from now, so I will continue to grab interest and provide updates here so people can track. If there is no updates provided by me and you have a question, you are welcome to private message me or post here and I will respond asap. Communication is key. No money will be collected or sent to seller until we can confirm this will be worth the price and effort.

Any idea how this is being manufactured? Molded or printed? Will chrome surround be available?

One thing to note, these would come in a gloss black only color, no chrome or unpainted versions. Those might be possible in the future, but I will have to get back to you that asked me privately about a chrome or unpainted version.

These are 3D printed in ABS plastic from what I have been told and then painted gloss black. No chrome surround options would be made available. It would be relatively easy for someone who knows what they are doing to wrap the surround in chrome, however as with chrome vinyl, it would not look as clear as dipped chrome plastic would be. Another thing to note, this is a single piece, not two pieces like the real OEM P7 grill, but at 2/3 the price and no availability of the real thing anymore, might be your only option for something similar.

Canada would not be too terrible to ship to, although their would be added cost to send it. Once I can get a sample unit and feel confident that we are dealing with a quality product, we can go from there. I will get a quote as we get closer. I will continue to respond to messages here, through PM or email if you prefer.
