paint chip
my 2014 f type 6s has been repainted 3 times and still chips on both sides this is a problem that jaguar will never solve its just a bad design. the bulletin its a waste of time i was offered 3000.00$ by jaguar of usa plus the warranty. this is how stupid jaguar management is they have paid over 5000.00$ in rental car in 3 different occasion they paid first body shop picked by the dealer 700.00$ but not autorized jaguar body shop so they paid 2300.00$ the autorized shop the second time wich used more plexi in the paint thinking that would fix the problem. i personally think jaguar know this but they sold the cars any way it only takes less than 10 miles for the paint to chip and im sure the cars that they tested chipped.bottom line i wan a car that dosent chip or my money back this was posted so more people know whats going to happen to your chipping problem

Where were the chips? Was it peeling from underneath or from stone damage? Any pictures?
As Marco5 says, all cars will chip but some paint is better at handling smaller stones than others. My Alfa Brera just had to pass within 10ft of a stone and it chipped. My last XK, however, went a whole year and had only one small chip on the bonnet.
My F Type will be getting Xpel Ultimate paint protection film applied. This stuff self-heals from minor damage - excellent product. Perhaps get Jag to apply this - would be a lot cheaper.

Troll?
If he is a troll he isn't a very good one. My sense is that whoever is repainting the car figured out to do this as an annuity. My car was repainted and the problem hasn't recurred (or at least it hadn't before I had it wrapped). I'd suggest the car go to a pain shop that has a clue.

paint chip
hi every one just wanted to clarify my post from yesterday my paint chips on the rocker panel moulding are not caused by rocks but by exaust vibration as jaguar know all f type from vin#00000001 to 000008071 2014 model year are affected more notesable on dark paint as stated on technical bulletin #jtb00323nas1 dated 16 dec 2013 . this bulletin its a waste of time it was applied 3 times to my indigo blue f type and the car has same delamineting problem

I have a 2015 coupe that has had the paint chipping problem on the rocker panel. It was repainted twice and both times the paint chipped again before I even drove it off the dealer's lot. So on the 3rd time, the dealer just replaced the entire rocker panel with one they took off a car on the lot and this panel has held up fine so far.
Ironically, they gave me a BRG coupe as a loaner and it had the same paint problem as mine, so the coupes are definitely subject to the same issue as the convertible.

i think they all are defected its not showing on white or bright paint colors because the bear panel is white ivory color but the delaminating is still there just look at the seem from the bottom with a magnifier . i happened to have photos of at least 10 of those cars new with the problem but jaguar managed to sell the cars any way i guess they are blind. i myself filed a lemon law claim since november 2013 thats why i was offered 3000.00$ but i think a car that is peeling with a 70000 to 100000 sticker price its not enough
