So far I have been offered $38K from a online salvage company. The insurance adjuster says he has been offered $37,500.

I am taking the Jag into the dealership Thursday morning to meet with the adjuster, his boss, and the service manager. I have already shown the damage to the manager and his response was "I have no idea what to do with this".

I am thinking we will come to some resolution quickly, I may even drive away the gorgeous 2017 BRG F-Type sitting on the showroom floor. One could hope

Unbelievable discount. This is a track car waiting to happen. If not for the hassle of importing salvage title into Canada, I'd be right there with cash in hand.

WOW! considering the situation and the actual condition of the car, thats a STEAL of a price for an F-Type R.....anyone that gets it for under 40 might as well go play the lotto after and win millions haha.

although on the flipside, thats a little insulting to Scott, such a huge hit for nothing more of a paint issue

I am getting pissed, met with a "new" adjuster at our local Jaguar dealer this morning. The first adjuster had been reassigned so we had to catch up the new guy with more photos ect.

He is claiming that it would be cheaper to replace the interior, pull the engine, steam clean it and the engine bay, and repaint the entire car than total it.

I had a nice long chat with my insurance company right afterwards, I think they totaly understand the issue now...

The paint can be removed with Olive Oil for the seats. Plastics you can remove the paint with Easy Off oven cleaner.

Ok time for the sequel, I just finalized the deal with my insurance carrier.

List price for the 2015 R was $105,013. My purchase price was $101,848 with all fees included.

The insurance company has offered me with them taking the Jag for salvage $101,706.

If I keep the F-type they have offered me $65,612 cash and a salvage value or $35,971.

I currently have a offer from a buyer for the salvaged R of $41,300 making a total return to me $106,912.

So in essence I got to drive a brand new F-Type R Coupe for 14 months and got paid $5064.00 to do it.

You also got paid $5064.00 for all of your time, effort and headaches dealing with this process. Sounds like a good resolution in the end. Congrats!

damn, this is one hell of an awesome turnout........you got PAID to drive an awesome depreciation heavy car. envious of that

and also, just the thought of potentially being able to purchase a "salvage" F-type that actually had no issues for $35k got me to the point where i was scrambling to get some funds together to make an offer. I know you probably wouldnt have accepted, but i wouldnt have been able to live with myself if i hadnt tried

reading this now - i own a body shop and have 20 cars like this in my shop with similar damage (not as high end but a few nice ones)

It really is a pain to repair this type of damage - The paint and glass are easy the rest is a nightmare !

Glad they took care of it for you.
