parking brake light

I have owned a British car since 1972.
In 1973 I learned a valuable lesson. No American car shop could handle issues with the sophisticated MG carburetors. Nor a lot of other issues.
Going to a non English car place was referred to as Polish Roulette. 5 bullets in the 6 bullet cylinder. .
Finding a good mechanic to handle an English car is very hard.

Unless you have FULLY charged your new battery, you have not investigated the primary cause of all and every electronic issue (common to all module-laden makes). New batteries are very rarely fully charged on installation, and infrequent use, especially when combined with short runs, guarantees low battery voltage, and that in turn guarantees random electronic issues.

I own the Victron battery charger. The fanciest one I think. Charged overnight and then some.
the voltage in the morning was 12.7 the next day.
I was surprised the “new” battery was about 30% charged when I got home with it. It would have started the car likely. did not try. Just put it on the charger.
the good news. The automatic start feature which I hate now works again. Whoopi F#$&@.

Just got the call.
Jaguar has identified the issue.
some computer module in the front of the car is not sending information to the central control of the dash.
New module. Only $1300. Plus $600 for tech time. Plus a $300 oil change.
Good news. This is the first repair in 6 years. Might be ready in a week.

Still at the dealer. No end in site. The body monitor instillation failed. They now think the car also needs a remote lock module.
Whoopsie. the dealership; computer seems to have failed. Ain't technology great. They replaced a parking brake cable with thousands of dollars worth of electronics so it would be automatic.
I can see a $5000 bill on the horizon for a goofy useless warning light.
Waiting for the part to arrive.
Beginning to loose my patience.
