Got a door ding trying to take care of. Shop I'm looking at getting it done does PDR. Seems trustworthy enough. Would you let him take on a 10/15 minute trip to his shop and back? Would you be nervous PDR gentleman taking your F? I know there's probably no reason to be but just not knowing for that amount of time.

Work during the week and he said it would take about 3 hours...so can't exactly wait for it. As well, do you know if they need the key while it is being worked on? Do they need to get access to the inside? If not, perhaps I could take it in and get a lift back and then to collect it.

I expect that they might need access inside, although I don't know what techniques they use. I expect it also depends on the location and severity of the damage.

If the shop comes recommended from someone you trust and they have insurance, I wouldn't worry too much. Make sure the mileage is noted on the work order (although not in a way that says "I don't trust you").

I’m guessing you’re being a bit paranoid. I can see why you might not want anyone else driving the car, but no need to lock the repair technician out of the car. If only 15 minutes away, just drop the car off and get an Uber back to the office.

Can they do it remotely and come out to you? I've done mobile PDR before on my XF. Came out to my house, did it in the driveway. Doesn't take big tools
And yes, they need to get inside for some panels depending on what they are doing.
