Default Pedestrian Protection Sensor

Hi

I had a gloss black grille fitted today.

On picking the car up I have a warning saying check pedestrian sensor.

Have the garage forgotten to connect something or does something need resetting.

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks
Andrew

Not heard of that before, have you called the garage?

Are you sure this was on an F-Type?

Definitely says 'Check Pedestrian Protection System' when I start it.

As I recall, UK F-types have airbags under the hood which deploy in a collision with a pedestrian. This raises the hood a bit, to soften the blow of the pedestrian slamming into the engine.

No idea what they use for sensors.

In other cars, it's a pair of sensors in the front bumper near the grill. So if a shop just replaced your grill, it's likely they forgot to plug them back in.

+1, very common, I did it once on each of my XFs!

Thanks all for the comments.

It just needed resetting following the bumper removal.

All good now.

Regards
Andrew
