Perfect Substitute Replacement AGM Battery

Perfect Substitute Replacement AGM Battery
Just a heads up, I replaced my factory jaguar AGM in the 2020 R today with the Duracell Platinum AGM Group 49(H8) from Sams Club for $201.00 out the door. Dimensions, hold down and post arrangement are identical to the factory battery. Specs are slightly better I think. Full three year replacement guarantee from Sam's Club, Bite me JLR....

Speaking of batteries...does anybody know if f type battery specifications have changed throughout the years? Although the battery in my 2018 is still performing well, I have, on occasion, searched for an eventual replacement and it seems as if nearly all the battery manufacturers report that they do not make one for 2018. Costco handles Interstate and the same thing happens when using their site. Seems odd. Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks!

Looking at the Interstate Battery site, they list the MTX-49/H8 battery to fit 2014-2017 Fs. (90 CCA)

Seems comparable in statistics to the list provided by @scm
Haven't investigated connection variability for the 2018 (terminal position etc). But if it would fit and the terminals reach, Costco should be able to order one, if you can get by the counterman's objection if he says "That won't fit your 2018".

My guess is it's because the F-Type changed from the two battery start/stop system to a single battery system with the 2016 model year, but I always thought the main battery remained the same?

And you are correct it is tough to find outside of Europe/UK.
Just disconnect it or remove it, no more annoying start/stop and no hassles!

I have to ask why you would want to replace it…that would mean that the irritating stop/start system would work again. I am sorry that yours still functions🙂

It has no place on a sports car / performance car like the F-Type.
Econobox maybe, F-Type no way.
Never mind that even when working to spec it makes SFA difference to fuel economy.
