Well, the mystery continues. I have a 2016 engine, and it should have this part number tensioner on it according to jpart and Jaguar 2010-2023 Jaguar Belt Tensioner C2D49666 | OEM Parts Online
However it appears the tensioner is different as from the 2017 engine it is grooved for Micro V belt. 2016 tensioner is smooth. Even though they should be the same part from what I can tell. Put the 2017 tensioner on and will go for a test drive as it seemed to fit the SC belt much better.

Sounds like you suffered from a staggered change to the MY18 facelift.
