Default Phone Charge USB PowerBank trick

Sharing this idea, works great.

Get a little power brick. This one was $19.99 on Amazon. Add a 1' Micro USB cord and plug into USB power in the cubby.

I wanted to be able to leave my phone in the car for 20min-1.5hr or so while at the gym, etc, and still have the phone charging.

This won't cause grief, no car battery/charging issues. The power bank is always connected but the car is only charging the brick when the 5v is active.

Your mobile phone continues to charge after all the F-Type's electronics shut down (10-15min?).

Works great, no downside. Plus you have an emergency charge brick with you in case you need to use it outside the car.

i bought the power brick for $19.99 under 'today's deals' it is back to $29.99 now.

Nice. Just make sure the USB powerbrick doesn't overcharge and catch fire. I had a Duracell USB powerbrick at my desk at work that overheated and caught on fire when charging. I was at my desk at the time and disconnected it, but it still was burning inside the enclosure even while security took it outside. Stunk up the entire office area.

Hmm. Well it will only be charging when I am present + 10min. Plus I have $50 deductible .
