I have that exact one, that I also bought at Target. It's now in my pickup, and it works pretty well, but you can't hide the power cord.
For the F-Type, I bought one that fits in a cupholder, and I use the holder on the passenger side. The cord can be hidden by plugging it in the center console, with just a couple of inches of cord coming out under the console door.
The one pictured above, I purchased on Amazon. It's very sturdy, doesn't move around, and I like it very much. It can also be removed in a few seconds.
I went to Target the other day and found a phone holder that connects to the car via the power socket on the dash. The brand is Scosche and the one that I purchased for $20 could hold various brands and sizes of phones up to an IPhone 6 size. The unit has a stem that flexs and can be adjusted very easily to swivel to whatever viewing angle you want. It allowed clear access to the screen and all of the switches as well as the grab handle.
Have used it for a couple of days now and it is really handy and does not bounce around or lose its position. I am very happy that I made this find and hope it helps someone looking for an alternative to some of the previous solutions.
Thanks, I was at Target and so happy to find this but then I decided to read the specs and it does not fit Iphone 6 Plus. Over 6 inches in height with case on.
Found a cheap one on Amazon that should fit but I know the quality will suck compared to Scosche and doesn't look good.
FYI, Scosche now has a magnetic mounting system for cellphones. There's a USB port in the bottom. It wobbles a little, they should have made it a little shorter.

I've had a Scosche cigar lighter mount in my truck for awhile, and it wobbles a lot to the point that it's a nuisance requiring constant re-adjustment. That's why I went with the cupholder mount.

The wobble of this model is minor, and keeps the phone visible in your peripheral vision. The cupholder mount takes your vision off the road too long unless you can wait till the vehicle is at a full stop. I'll sacrifice safety for wobble.
After 3 months of use, including one day on the track, I continue to believe this is far and away the best all-around solution for mounting a phone in the cockpit of the F-Type:

A you were taking and making calls while on track?!?
To quote a UK comedian known for sketches involving making calls at the top of his lungs using an outsize phone in a variety of inappropriate public places:
I still prefer the cupholder mount after all this time in the F-Type. I have both a windshield mount, and a 12v plug mount in my two other vehicles, and still prefer this.
I'm not worried about line of sight, because I use Waze exclusively and rely on it's voice directions 95% of the time. The cupholder mount comes out in two seconds when I don't need it, and there's no left-over mount or magnet any where else. In addition, there's no more than a couple of inches of power cord visible by using the 12v plug inside the covered console cubby.
1) Place an iphone base mount into empty rubber lined hole. Make sure mount is tightened enough so that once phone it set on it it is firm and there is good resistance to moving it about.
2) Fill the empty rubber lined hole with clear epoxy resin. Let it set.
3) Phone magnetically attaches to mount for the one i selected.
3) Done!
4) If you need to sell vehicle you can just pull out rubber liner and replace.
