This is what I want for our F-Types:

Ditto. But regardless, the best of all options seems to be anchored on the left side of the in control. I hate taking my eyes off the road if unnecessary. It does get the left vent, while blowing, but it's really ideal, only rests over the top left in-control button, which I apparently don't use very much because I can't remember what I am blocking. Maybe "home"?

The Scosche MAGDMB and Caseco 360 are good solutions, this Anker mount is another. It's essentially a steel ball with a small attached plate for the phone. The ball rotates freely in a cup mounted to the dash with 3M tape.
I mounted it above the Nav screen so that Waze stays close to my field of view. It does block my dash vent but that's seldom a problem. We just returned from 1400 miles around California and it held my Pixel XL in position very well, nary a slip despite some... assertive acceleration and cornering.

Assuming that folks are using the power outlet under the arm rest in the center console, how are you running the power cable out of the console? The cleanest way that I can see would require drilling a hole in the console, but I hate making modifications which are not totally reversible. (I'm funny like that I suppose.) Anyone have a clever way of dealing with this?

You can run the cable out the back of the center console (there is a gap near the hinge)and tuck it up under the tranny tunnel (center console) trim on the passenger side, as mentioned, where it meets the carpet. Then run it forward to where the trim ends behind the glove box door.

That's exactly the path that I took but I don't have it running to the side of the console's hinge as you have done. I tried running it between the two hinges, centered, but felt as if subsequent closing of the console lid would likely, over time, pinch the cable resulting in a stress point. I'll have to try running it lateral to one of the hinges and see how that goes.

I bought the Soche magnetic and adhesive mount. It was not strong enough to use with my thin ESR Mimic case, unless you put the metal plate on the outside of the case, so I returned it. I got the Humixx https://humixx.net/collections/accessories-proctection/products/magnetic-car-phone-mount-1. It works really well. I've also used the KAVVO one in my XF though it is smaller but almost as strong, to fit in the ashtray area on the popup cover.
